MORE EVIDENCE THAT JOE FAN IS GETTING THE SQUEEZE?
In response to our rant about the possibility that PSLs will squeeze out of the stadium the blue-collar fans who helped make the game what it is, a fan of the Chiefs has pointed out to us some other evidence of a fundamental change in the manner in which folks are now expected to watch live football.
In a “Chiefs Fan Code of Conduct,” folks attending home games are told that Arrowhead Stadium staff will “proactively intervene” to prevent behaviors such as . . . drum roll, please . . . standing.
We’ve been to enough football games to know that it can be a pain in the arse when the guys in front of you decide to stand up, if for example the road team is facing third down and seven in the fourth quarter of a tie game. But that’s football. The easy answer? Stand up, too. And if you don’t like all of the sitting and standing, then don’t go to a football game (or to a Catholic church — rim shot).
The Chiefs also have set up a text-messaging system that allows fans who might be offended by behaviors like standing to report the situation to the powers-that-be. It provides the non-confrontational types who might be offended by sitting a way to tattle while still maintaining plausible deniability.
We don’t mean to pick on the Chiefs here. For all we know, every other team prohibits standing as well. (We welcome PFT Planet to post links in the comments to any other no-standing policies from other venues.)
And maybe, down the road, it’s just another way to raise money. Fans will be able to stand.
If they’ve purchased a Personal Standing License.
This is a FanPost and does not necessarily reflect the views of Arrowhead Pride's writers or editors. It does reflect the views of this particular fan though, which is as important as the views of Arrowhead Pride writers or editors.

I've just had an idea...
Does anyone know what happens when 80,000 people text message the same number constantly for say 5 or 10 minutes just to say “hi”?
Blame my wife!

I've never understood
why some people insist on standing for the entire 3 to 3 1/2 hour game. It makes perfect sense when its 4th and 1 or another crucial point in the game. Other times its just some liquored up guy trying to look tough. If I hear the response “I paid for my ticket so I’ll do what I want” I’ll punch that person’s lights out. Once the guy down front stands up it just goes from there and you have to stand the entire game if you want to see anything. High school: fine. College: fine. Pro: come on. I can yell just as loud sitting down as I can standing up.

Sitting/ Standing... its my Choice !!
Hey Stram#1 – punch my lights out because I want to stand… Go for it… and have your dentist ready after the game…. LOL
You sound pretty tough sitting behind a keybord – Why dont you go sit in the club seats if you dont want to be the 12th player.
I did pay for my seat, and will stand as much as I want to, becuase I did pay for my ticket.
Better yet, go sit in the club seats in Devner.. LOL

Lemme see if I understand this...
In the Military they developed a bullet, that would not necessarily kill you, but only wound you. The thought process here was, if you were dead, no one had to attend to you. If you were injured, it took two people to care for you, hence taking three personnel out of the conflict.
Relating this to the fans standing, it will take two people to logically control each fan standing. Is the capacity at arrowhead going to be raised to 240,000 people?
Or from a Fire Marshal’s point of view, the capacity is 80,000 and with 2 workers for every fan, the tickets will be limited to 26,666 seats sold. CP will have to raise the prices! Again…

I just see this as being enforced to the people who NEVER sit the hell down. It’s as annoying as those people who bring umbrellas to the game. Bring a poncho a$$clown, you’re pouring all your water onto surrounding people.
have you seen my baseball?

Thats a good one
I forgot all about that one. Get a cheap poncho keep it in the trunk since you never know when you’ll need it.

Cheese with that wine?
I have recently moved out of the area but, this is the dumbest thing I have heard of. I had season tickets and my grandmother attended the games along with my wife. She has been going since 1989 and she stands along and yells with the fans. She also has no problem yelling at the fans in front of her who stand when nobody else does. Sounds like some people need to grow a sack and speak up. If an eighty-one year old woman can, so can you. Stram, you talked about it being ok to stand at high school and college games but not pro. Don’t you think people get just as excited at pro games as the others? It is called being a fan. I would say the winers are in the minority on this one. It is a Chiefs game not a Royals game.
