Nap Harris Runs Drills with KC Kids

Yikes, another slow day on the news front. In the meantime, check out this confusing account by Javon Walker about what led to him being found unconscious on a Las Vegas street earlier this week.

"I was just back at my room and at about 5:30 in the morning I got a knock at the door. I opened it and 3 guys with guns were there. They cracked me in the head a few times, knocking me unconscious. They then robbed me of everything I had; my watch, money, everything! Somehow they got me to a car and dropped me off in the street. That’s what happened."

Does that makes sense on any level?

Bwah?

Walker was knocked out, robbed, and THEN the robbers decided to take their “victim” for a joyride, and dump him somewhere? Not likely…

Where is his agent?

Someone has to be telling this guy not to say stuff like that.

What Seems More Likely

Is that Walker’s downplaying his part in the incident to avoid a suspension by the NFL. If he pissed off someone at the club, then went outside to fight with them, that could very well trigger action from Goodell. The commish has been fairly harsh on players who put themselves in those situations. Unless the cops back his side of the story, I suspect that Walker may be looking at some trouble from the league.

The Smoking Gun

Cameras record every inch of Vegas hotels (and I think street corners)....no videotape, no story.

Yeah makes no sense

Lets rob him and beat him unconscious, THEN drag his unconscious body out the hotel and down the street. My interest in this story just got alot higher.

Also

I wouldn’t particularly trust the author’s reliability

“Jevon Walker is definitely not a trouble maker. He is a guy focused and dedicated to his sport. He is also the guy who will give you the shirt off his back. It is a shame that he was a victim of this crime.

Apparently he hasn’t been paying attention to Walker’s career much since Walker got pushed out of both Green Bay and Denver for his rotten attitude.

Spelled his name wrong

The authors of The Dirty also said they were friends with Walker which would sway their judgment of the accounts.

My theory? Walker doesn’t want to snitch on Mayweather’s crew so he made up some completely unplausible story.

Should Have Added [sic] To My Blockquote

On the plus side of this whole story I’m downgrading my estimate of how well the Raiders do this season from 10-6 to 8-8. They’ve imported and signed enough talent to be mediocre. But it’s possibly that Walker misses playing time with the fractured orbital and a receiving corps with that many question marks makes me forsee a very rough year for JaMarcus Russell.

Not that I’m complaining.

8-8

I don’t care if they go 14-2 as long as we sweep them :) (not really, I would hate to have to listen to the Raiders fans if they only lost 2 games, even if they were both to us)

I Think They'll Take One From Us

If only because we’ve got so many issues going into the season and they’ve filled a lot of holes. But I think 2008 is going to represent the high-water mark of the Oakland Raiders for the next few years. I think they fall apart in 2009 and 2010, partly because the players they’ve signed don’t have that much upside, partly because I think our young players do.

Supporting the lesser of two evils is still supporting something evil.

Legit Source?

Who’s to say Walker even said those words? If this story comes out with a reputable news source backing it, then I’ll believe it. But I’m not ready to automatically believe any garbage that “thedirty.com” posts.
