More Sacks Without Allen?
I believe the chiefs defense can yeild more sacks in 2008 without Jared Allen. Hear me out. Hali increases his production by 50% giving him a total of 12 sacks. (He is moving to the right side, which is more condusive to pass rush because there is usually no tightend) Now we have a 3.5 sack deficit on the right plus 8 on the left since Boone will take over. I'm giving Boone 1 sack (that may be too generous) Now out of the 10.5 sack deficit left I believe Dorsey can get 6 of those. This may be unrealistic, but Sapp got to the quarterback early in his career. Flowers can get 2, I assume we are going to blitz and utilize him. My last assumption is that DJ will go from 4 to 6 because of Dorsey's disruption on the line. The rest of the team can step it up to put us over the mark. What do you guys think? Unrealistic?

I think Hali could easily get 15 sacks like Jared Allen did last year. He has so much upward potential as it is, and he could have easily had a lot more sacks last year if he had followed through with the sack instead of trying to strip the ball. How many sacks did he get his rookie year, like 6 (I’m completely guessing)? Dorsey can definitely do the same. I still wish though we had Jared Allen, Hali, AND Dorsey though. Can you imagine the complete dominance?

We would have the best pass rush in the NFL, no doubt

Boone is the expected for DE but I still have high hopes that McBride could prove himself as the LE with 6 Sacks or Johnston could pull together 4. Plus Tank should get at least 3- 4. Everything else I hope is possible though I just hope Boone gets .5 sacks this year.

Chances Are...
...that our sacks will decrease this year. Our focus will be on stopping the run and making teams beat us by throwing. This will be trial by fire for our young secondary. It will most likely translate to a 5-7 win season, but our secondary will be better off gaining the experience for next year when we make a serious run. If the young secondary excels earlier than expected, it is not out of the question to turn some heads THIS year (ala Cleveland last year). Back to the point though, our sack numbers will be declining, but we will make up for it in other areas. Gunther will mix it up and run some Corner blitzes etc.
If everyone worked as hard as me, I would be out of a job.
