The Chiefs’ new offensive coordinator sat down last month with first-round pick Branden Albert and talked about the future and which position the youngster would play. Albert had played guard at Virginia, and Gailey was talking about moving the rookie to tackle — left tackle, one of any NFL team’s marquee and highest-pressure positions.

Albert was listening, but Gailey kept saying it.

"He sat me down and told me, ‘You’re going to play left tackle for us,' Albert said Wednesday. "He was real stern about it. He said, ‘You’re going to play. You’re going to get it.’"

Forget about

any contract dispute between left tackle and guard money. Chan Gailey pretty much cleared that up.

do we have a pool going yet

for when we think dorsey will be signed? if camp starts in the middle of the week (like i think it did last year, can’t remember), i think he’ll be signed late that saturday, but there won’t be anything on sunday, so that monday will be the first day he’s on the field. if camp starts on a monday, i’m still thinking it will be 3 or 4 days, so i guess i’d go with him being signed by end of day friday.

maybe someone with some good internet savvy should set up a post w/ a poll and see what everyone thinks? especially now that carl is going to have a hard time arguing to sign him for guard money, like chris says. he’s been at tackle so far, the head coach has said he’ll be at tackle, and the OC has said he’ll be at tackle, so hopefully there won’t be any shenanegans about what kind of money he deserves. and yes, i did say shenanegans. that might be carl’s middle name.

Shenanegans

good to see I’m not the only one who uses that word (too often I might add) :)

I will be surprised if at least Albert doesn’t make it to camp on time…the “cohesiveness” of the o-line they have been preaching to us won’t mean squat if Albert misses some camp.
