The Chiefs will reportedly decide between Savage and sixth-round pick Kevin Robinson to fill their kick return opening before they offer Savage a contract.

"If (Savage) makes the team, no doubt, a lot will depend on whether he can help us in the return game," Gailey said. "That will go a long way in determining his status."
