Around SBN: Tom Brady possibly out for the season Bar-right-arrows

[Tyler] Thigpen, who was the first Chanticleer to be drafted last season, benefited by the Kansas City Chiefs avoiding a quarterback in the draft.

"The quarterback coach [Dick Curl] said he has two guys who he believes in [in Thigpen and Brodie Croyle]," Thigpen said via cell phone Tuesday.

Thigpen added that Curl has "taken heat" for persuading the Kansas City front office to concentrate on areas other than quarterback.

What do you guys think about Thigpen?

I know we don’t have much to go on but at the very least the Chiefs think he’s valuable enough to keep off the practice squad and away from other teams.

We did “steal” him from Minnesota, so there was some demand for him.

No clue

I literally know nothing about him. The fact he was not a high draft pick really doesn’t bother me. If he is a guy the Chiefs view as a potential starter in the future if Croyle can’t get it done, I have no problem with him. If they just see him as a lifelong backup, however, and not starter material, Id just as soon they find someone else that they think could.

Personally Id like to see 2 young QBs in the pipeline at all times behind our starter. There is no benefit to having Damon Huard take over if our starter goes down.

Not Much

I believe he’s supposed to have a great arm.

All I know is that Minnesoter was bummed that we snagged him before they could designate him to the practice squad. So at least they think we have a great prospect with him.

I did not know this little bit o’ info -> He was placed on the IR last year after tearing his MCL. He tore it in practice apparently. It didn’t require surgery and he should be able to participate in offseason practices.

i like this sentence

“The Texans signed tackle Jordan Black as a key free agent and added another by spending a first-round pick on Duane Brown.”

Key? Really?

That's like John Clayton on ESPN

saying Kris Wilson was a huge pick up for the Eagles.

Wait, that’s actually a lot worse.

Yeah

for the Texans o-line, I imagine Jordan Black would be considered a “key” free agent…
