Dolphins Begin Contract Negotiations with Michigan's Jake Long
Update: John Clayton of ESPN says Bill Parcells may take the best contract deal between Jake Long, Chris Long and Glenn Dorsey.
Hat tip to Eric in the diaries.
How serious is this?
The Dolphins have formally begun contract negotiations with agent Tom Condon about the prospect of selecting former Michigan offensive tackle Jake Long as the first overall selection in this year's draft.
Condon, who also represents Boston College quarterback Matt Ryan, was in South Florida early this week to negotiate specifically on behalf of Long at the request of the team, The Miami Herald has learned.

Parcells
I had a feeling they'd go with Jake Long. Safest pick they could make.
So this probably means St. Louis will take C. Long.
Falcons will probably take Dorsey (maybe Ryan but I doubt it).
Seems like from all the free agents the Raiders have signed that they are looking to take McFadden, however, Lane Kiffin coached at USC and has said the Raiders might want to take a DT. So that means they could also take Sedrick Ellis.

Or else
Why not offer a low ball contract to both Long's and Gholston, all players I've heard the Dolphins are interested in, and see who accepts the cheap contract.
