Arrowhead Pride Community Mock Draft -- Pick #54 by the Tennessee Titans

Anyone else just waiting for bad news to hit the sports wire? Major props to Tom Bahali for coming through with this pick, since it wasn't even his turn.

And with the 54th pick in the 2008 Arrowhead Pride Community Mock Draft, the Tennessee Titans select:

USC G Chilo Rachal

Draft Profile

Tom Bahali with the pick:

After losing G Jacob Bell to the Rams and Benji Olsen to retirement the Titans need interior linemen. They did sign Jake Scott from the Colts, he is one starter. 2007 4th round pick Leroy Harris , and backup Eugene Amano are the options for the other guard position. With the lack of depth at this position the Titans make Chilo Rachal G USC the selection. He won't be a star this season, but he has the skill set to be a stregth for the Titans for years to come. In a year or two after C Kevin Mawae retires Tennessee will have the makings of a good young line, moving Eugene Amano to center, Rachal and Harris at guard, and Roos and Stewart at tackle.

So you don't feel neglected
with all the Allen hoopla, thank you for picking up the slack and picking this guy.  I like this kid a lot and wish the Chiefs had a low second rounder to use on him (or that he might fall to the top of the third)

Interesting story on him
He's coming out of school a year early because of his need to pay the medical bills of his Mom AND Dad.

Wiki:

The month following his father's comment, Rachal stated his 64-year-old father, who works in construction, had recently suffered two hernias, and has tendinitis in his knees and his mother had been diagnosed with an abdominal growth the size of a six-month-old child, though he was unclear whether it was benign or malignant. His mother had informed him of her condition after the 2007 regular season. The only underclassman to leave that year, Rachal stated "I had to do what was best for my family."

Chilo Would Be A Good Chief
If he's in the third round for our pick, I'd be happy for the Chiefs to snag him (and I'd be ecstatic if he were available in the fourth).  He looks like he'll develop into a solid guard.
Supporting the lesser of two evils is still supporting something evil.
