• Peter King -- "I'm not going to trust the smoke signals coming out of Kansas City in the next 12 days, and neither should you."

• Carl Peterson told Peter King on Saturday -- "I can tell you if the guy we've targeted at five is not there, we'll definitely be interested in trading down." You think?

• On drafting Darren McFadden -- "Yeah, there’s plenty to consider when it comes to drafting Darren McFadden. He could blow up in Kansas City, or self-destruct in the face of anyone and everyone who cares about the Chiefs. Either way, he’s an explosive prospect."

• Pro Football Weekly says the Kansas City Chiefs could be looking to draft a kicker for the second consecutive year.

• PFW also reports that Saints' WRs Robert Meachem and Devery Henderson are battling for the no. 3 spot. A few fans before the '07 draft were touting Meachem as a better prospect than Dwayne Bowe. Now, Meachem may not even make the Saints team.

Peter King is dead on when he says don't trust anything coming out of KC over the next couple of weeks. This is prime time for draft BS and we'd do ourselves a favor over the next couple of weeks by looking at things with that in mind.
