Arrowhead Pride Community Mock Draft -- Pick #37 by the Atlanta Falcons

And with the 37th pick in the 2008 Arrowhead Pride Community Mock Draft, the Atlanta Falcons select:

USC OT Sam Baker

Draft Profile

Chris with the pick:

The Falcons will need to replace their LT Wayne Gandy, who injured his ACL last year and was released this past February. Also, the Falcons signed RB Michael Turner in the off season and in the AP Mock Draft just took QB Brian Brohm. They'll need someone to open up holes and protect the quarterback. That is why I went with the best available offensive tackle -- USC's Sam Baker. In 2007, Baker allowed two quarterback sacks and no pressures on 460 pass plays.

1. Miami Dolphins - QB Matt Ryan
2. St. Louis Rams - OT Jake Long
3. Atlanta Falcons - DT Glenn Dorsey
4. Oakland Raiders - DE Chris Long
5. Kansas City Chiefs - DT Sedrick Ellis

great value for Baker
He was a solid first rounder before a lackluster Senior Bowl, Combine and Pro Day.

Agreed
As I was doing research on him, I kept thinking to myself how is this guy not a first rounder.

Amazing he's fallen so far
I remember at the start of the college season that the debate was between him and Jake Long as to who was the better OT.  I'd be more than happy if the Chiefs were to actually take him when we pick in the second round.

That may be likely
if Long doesn't fall to us, our first O-lineman will come in Round 2.

Agree
I don't know why I never hear his name associated with the Clady's and Otah's of the draft.

Just a question on the picture.
I played corner and tail back in high school and college. I never paid much attention to offensive linemen play but I thought you couldn't put your hands outside of the defenders shoulder pad.  If this is true isn't that a picture of a penalty. Also I would like to agree with every one else I hope to get Long but he would be almost as nice in the second round.

I think
that is only when face to face...the pic looks like Baker is pushing the guy out of the way from the side.

You guys...
Have Atlanta pegged. Their new coach came up from Jacksonville and intends to make rebuilding the team's foundation - the offensive and defensive lines - their No. 1 priority.
