Around SBN: Trent Richardson Interviews Fellow Brown Brandon Weeden

My close to perfect draft

Round 1:Jake Long OT Notre Dame
Round 2:Brian Brohm QB Louisville
Round 3:Jordy Nelson WR K-State
Round 4:Patrick Lee CB Auburn
Round 5:Owen Schmitt FB W. Virginia
Round 5:Martin Rucker TE Missouri
Round 6:Carlton Powell DT VA Tech
Round 6:Darnell Terell Missouri
Round 7:Chase Ortiz DE TCU
Round 7:Davonne Bess WR Hawaii

If you can pick up a few RFA's along the way like a Adam Speiker OC Missouri and/or Tyler Luellen OT Missouri. And a few more RFA DB's there is a very good "youthful" foundation. And of course if you can aquire lets say a Deangelo Hall or PACMAN (yeah i said it). I think every position of need is vastly improved.

We are too narrow minded
There are better players than those from Missouri.

Also, I would like top see where Rucker is supposed to go.  IMO, there's no way he's around that late.

Rucker might be there in the 5th
but I would be surprised if Schmitt was.  If Terell is there in the 6th, that would be a good value - I'm not sure you could find a better CB in the 6th round.  The draft looks good, except 1) we won't draft a 1st day QB, 2) Brohm wouldn't be there in Round 2 even if we wanted to draft a QB 3) If Brandon Albert is there in Round 2 and we don't draft him I will punch someone in the nuts.

When I do these drafts...
I look at where the Chiefs are in most mock drafts I can find. I look to2 players above, and about 5 players below. And Find the player that I think would make the  better pick. Rucker seems to be averaging late 4th to mid 5th.
