ORLANDO, Fla. – Four newspapers won the coveted Triple Crown in the Associated Press Sports Editors' writing and section contests that ended Wednesday.
I wanted to make sure you knew Bill Reiter, whose name appears multiple times in the award listings. He's been a friend to the site and we wish him the best of luck with his future writing (Not that he'll need it).
The Kansas City Star was the only newspaper in the over-250,00 circulation division to win Top 10 recognition for its daily, Sunday and special sections. Last year, five newspapers in that division swept; this year only the Star did it, earning its third Triple Crown in five years.
Hat tip to The Big Lead.
