Kansas City Chiefs President Carl Peterson announced on Wednesday that the club has signed G Tavares Washington to a three-year contract from the club’s practice squad.

Kansas City Chiefs - Chiefs Promote G Tavares Washington from Practice Squad

Here is the article from when we signed him to the practice squad back in September. Recently promoted DT Antwon Burton was moved back down to the practice squad to take Washington's place.

When are they going to resign Dacus?

We still have an empty spot on the PS. Been waiting all week for the announcement of Dacus but still hasn’t come by Wed.

Why?

Why did they give him a 3 year contract? I wonder how much of a hit we get on the cap? He might have shown promise on the PS but I just don’t understand the logic here.

Bill Parcell’s: "You are what your record says you are."

The Chiefs need to be playoff contenders in 2009 for me to consider improvement. Clark wanted it in 2008...I'll give them an additional year.

I thought

the 3 year contract was atypical too. I wonder if this is an indication he’ll be on the active roster next year

Nah

I’m sure we can get out of it whenever we want for free basically. If he’s a vested veteran then his contract becomes fully guaranteed on the first day of the season. But if he’s not, then we own him (assuming we didn’t throw around guaranteed money to a nobody PSer).

Wonder if they are hopeful

he will work out in order to ignore the o-line in the draft?

At least 10-6 next year taking our division, or Herm goes.

Nah...this is just all because of Rudy

He might not be able to go, which means that they need another interior player. Smith will shift to center, and Taylor will play guard, with Richardson and Washington in reserve.

If rudy goes, this guy doesn’t make the active roster this week.

This does tell you that they don’t think that Richardson can play on the inside, but that they like him as a right tackle exclusively.

I wonder if this means they like him better

than the other 2 PS guards De La Puente and Harrison?
