Drive Charts Say Chiefs' Offense Gave Up on the Final Game of the Season

I'm settling down to actually watch this game now and I've been perusing the stats. And this drive chart is #$%&$#@ terrible.
Do I even want to watch this game? How did the Kansas City Chiefs fail so badly on the offensive side of the ball?

They had the Cowboys game plan for today
then realized it wasnt worth a crap and FedEx’d it back by 3pm.
We need a future defensive leader, his name is James Laurinaitis and he can be selected in round 1 of the upcoming Draft.

Threadjack:
I think they should give the Cowboys the #1 pick in the draft just out of sympathy.

I'm watching that too
It’s a fun game to watch.

That has to be one of the all-time chokes
and I love it!

Not really a choke
Just a horrible horrible performance in a play-in game.

If they had played them and lost 44-43
I wouldn’t call it a choke. But win and your in and you lose 44-3? That is a choke in my book.

Watching the Cowboys get creamed
Almost as good as watching the Chiefs win.

Chris, the only bright spot today
was Colquitt kicked better than he has in awhile. That’s about it. Reassuring that our punting game is solid. We’re gonna need it.

How did the Kansas City Chiefs fail so badly on the offensive side of the ball?
Here’s how:
Thigpen was baaad, not “throw a lot of INT’s” bad… just “not good” bad. High throws, off target throws, throws in to triple and quadruple coverage (yes they know he’s going to throw to Tony a lot), deep passes that looked like punts (again), deep passes that were 5 yards out of bounds, telegraphing his passes, double clutching on screens and fade passes. Minus the INT’s, this almost felt like the Atlanta game…. almost.
LJ was bouncing to the outside when holes were made inside. LJ was just pretty poopy overall. He did manage to block well though… bizarro!
As usual, the WR’s dropped a few passes. Bowe had a great day overall, and Tony was a sexy beast – even with 3-4 defenders seemingly up his B-hole at all times.
Don’t forget the defense:
Oh yeah, and the D collectively shat in a pile and rolled around in it for 60 minutes. Boiman looked good I thought.. but he was basically the tallest turd in the pile. The cream of the crap, if you will. DJ had a few crushing hits and a botched pick-six opportunity. Babin got a sack – but also seemed to jump offsides almost every damn play.
U-G-L-Y we ain’t got no alibi, we ugly! yeah yeah we ugly!
thank God it’s over! Bring on the offseason!

Statistically he's last in the league for throwing the long ball
Pretty much explains the “punt” throws.
Bill Parcell’s: "You are what your record says you are."
The Chiefs need to be playoff contenders in 2009 for me to consider improvement. Clark wanted it in 2008...I'll give them an additional year.
Thigpen WILL NOT be the Chiefs starting QB next year IMO. He can compete for the job and should be 2nd or 3rd string.
