It may have been the shortest Tuesday session with the media horde that Herm Edwards has experienced during three years in Kansas City.
And, it wasn’t because Edwards lacked for anything to say or was in ill-humor. The media group was a skeleton crew at best and they’ve grown tired of asking the same questions week after week.
There were some good questions and some good answers from the head coach. Here they are.

Can you blame them?
With the roads icy, I wouldn’t want to drive to Arrowhead to hear Herm’s answers either.
What's Up?
Heck, the Cheifs are so bad apparently nobody wants to even check out this site and make a post. This item was posted about 6 hours ago and only one post. I read Royals Review a lot and have only recently started viewing this site in hopes of gleaning some insight on our GM search. Apparently this site isn’t as active as Royals Review though. I’m not trying to blast this site or anything, just making an observation based on small amount of data points. I’d welcome anybody else’s agreement or disagreement on my assessment.
I don't fight extra players.
Disagree
There are plenty of comments/discussion around the site. There are about 20 different stories on the front page/FanPosts…this is one of them. And RR isn’t more active than AP judging by traffic numbers. But it’s the middle of the offseason for baseball and RR is the best Royals site out there IMO.

Ouch
Some of us regular Chiefs fans are also Royals fans. And that hurt. :P
As for paleblueeyes, this community is extremely active. Seven front page items with several comments each were posted the same day you made your comment, and though I’m too lazy to go through the fanposts/shots, there were most likely more in there.
For this one (no offense to Chris), it’s tough to hear about Herm getting partially snubbed by the media, but it’s been happening all year. Living in western Arkansas, I almost always get Chiefs games on local channels, except this year. Not quite the same thing, but it’s in the same vein. There’s not much to comment on other than just the sad feeling that the season is almost over.
You think it's coincidence that I bleed red?
Not at all
There are alot of news/posts that make this site, and it’s difficult to participate in all of them. I for one spend probably too much time on AP. This is an extremely active site. Maybe looking before midnight so close to Christmas would be cause for your “assessment.” However, you can’t really base that judgement on this post alone, many people here stopped caring what Herm has to say.
"In the NFL, coaching has to make a difference when the games are close. The talent level across the league from team to team is too similar. Great head coaches do their best work in the fourth quarter when the game is on the line. Instead, we’ve seen Herm blow timeouts, put the game in the hands of the league’s worst defense, and most recently, run Larry Johnson behind Wade Smith and Adrian Jones as if they were Tim Grunhard and Will Shields in their prime.
Dr. Frankenstein is gone, but his monster is still roaming the sideline at Arrowhead Stadium." -C.E. Wendler, Warpaint Illustrated
I hate to see you come to that conclusion so soon
Come back on game day, we have more people posting on here than the Royals actually get to show up for games at the stadium.
We need a future defensive leader, his name is James Laurinaitis and he can be selected in round 1 of the upcoming Draft.

Mr. paleblueeyes
(Nice name by the way… jk)
I advise you… Go to any other NFL SB Nation blog and then talk to us about not being an active community. I’m on here all day-everyday and I work a full time job. So… There that is.
We may be "playing to win the game", but it seems like we're coaching to lose.
'09, a new era begins.
For the land of the free and the home of the CHIEFS!
They should have used conference calling
That way Whitlock can stay home in his underwear eating a bearclaw with one hand asking questions ;)
Bill Parcell’s: "You are what your record says you are."
The Chiefs need to be playoff contenders in 2009 for me to consider improvement. Clark wanted it in 2008...I'll give them an additional year.
Thigpen WILL NOT be the Chiefs starting QB next year IMO. He can compete for the job and should be happy to be 3rd string or 2nd.
What is there to say?
We’re all in post-Herm mode. Must we continue to bludgeon him like a baby seal? He’s npt a bad guy so you hate to do that.
I Gladly Stand Corrected
Thanks for everyboyd’s response. I was obviously incorrect. I look forward to participating in posts/discussions. I’ve been a diehard Chiefs’ fan for a long time. I can remember the day they fired Paul Wiggins.
I don't fight extra players.
then you've come to the right place :)
