Herm will never take blame for

any mistakes he may have made. Herm “Pass the buck” Edwards …

"In the NFL, coaching has to make a difference when the games are close. The talent level across the league from team to team is too similar. Great head coaches do their best work in the fourth quarter when the game is on the line. Instead, we’ve seen Herm blow timeouts, put the game in the hands of the league’s worst defense, and most recently, run Larry Johnson behind Wade Smith and Adrian Jones as if they were Tim Grunhard and Will Shields in their prime.
Dr. Frankenstein is gone, but his monster is still roaming the sideline at Arrowhead Stadium." -C.E. Wendler, Warpaint Illustrated

Yeah

I love how he keeps saying that “the youth movement was the way to go” like 95% of the fans didn’t agree with that. I’ve literally heard nobody say we should go out and sign a bunch of old free agents.

The problem the fans had was never with the youth movement…it was with the people running it. A great number of us had no faith in Carl Peterson to pick the right players and no faith in Herm Edwards to mold them into a football team that could win games. And so far, the skeptics have been right.

Herm Edwards will not be the Chiefs' head coach next season.

The whole coaching staff

was set up to fail. If that was how they wanted to get things done, and those were people Herm wanted to work with, then Herm can ride Carls coattails out the door.

Other news

not sure if anyone or everyone knows this but The Kansas City Chiefs and Price Chopper have ended their longstanding relationship. Hy-Vee will be one of the primary sponsors now. No more lame “Chiefs n Chopper” videos, but still it’s a sad day.

by dkugler838 on Dec 23, 2008 8:08 AM CST reply actions

Lame?!

Commenter Chiefs n chopper might have something to say about that.

by Joel Thorman on Dec 23, 2008 8:09 AM CST up reply actions

Maybe it's the youngster in me

being only 25, but I really think the videos are cheesy but I guess entertaining.

Youngsters!

Lets hope Clark lets the new GM start fresh, with his guys. Who would want a coach, who has lost twice as many as he has won in KC?

by Eric Allen on Dec 23, 2008 6:07 PM CST up reply actions

I love the Chiefs and Chopper...

Its the perfect compliment to the tomahawk chop.

by HIV 2 Elway on Dec 23, 2008 8:21 AM CST up reply actions

Agreed

Terrible decision to terminate their relationship.

by Joel Thorman on Dec 23, 2008 8:25 AM CST up reply actions

awww man

I don’t live in KC anymore, and we don’t have PC down here.

I always remember hearing the guy on the radio talking about “Prrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrice Choppperrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!” during the games.

You just can’t do that with Hy-Vee… or as I used to call it… H.Y.V.

by Ochophosphate on Dec 23, 2008 8:49 AM CST up reply actions

That's Bill Grigsby...

only bigger sellout, corporate shill, is Peyton Manning.

Yeah, But

Manning is funnier in his ads. :)

Herm Edwards will not be the Chiefs' head coach next season.

He's still

a douchebag. I can’t stand him or his little less sucessful brother.

by Joel Thorman on Dec 23, 2008 8:58 AM CST up reply actions

it worked so well

when the tomahawk chop was still around… cause we were always “choppin” anyway.

there is no way to work H.Y.V. in with the Chiefs… it’s a sad day.

Definitely win

I think the Chiefs and Rams will be going after different players in the first round, so let them have to shell out a couple extra million for picking a player we most likely aren’t going after.

If we were to win this weekend, what happens with the pick between the Chiefs and Bengals, wouldn’t they both end the season with 3 wins, does the fact that the Bengals have a tie impact the draft order?

by Chiefs n Chopper on Dec 23, 2008 10:15 AM CST up reply actions

tie is > loss

so they are going to pick after us if we beat them

Always win.

What else are you gonna do?

by TheQ on Dec 23, 2008 6:51 PM CST up reply actions

That's incorrect
36 years ago, the Dallas Texans played their final game. The next season, they would become the Kansas City Chiefs.

It was 1962…so that would make it 46 years ago.

36 years ago the Chiefs won the Super Bowl.

Bill Parcell’s: "You are what your record says you are."

The Chiefs need to be playoff contenders in 2009 for me to consider improvement. Clark wanted it in 2008...I'll give them an additional year.

Thigpen WILL NOT be the Chiefs starting QB next year IMO. He can compete for the job and should be happy to be 3rd string or 2nd.
