As we welcome 2009 in, in just a few weeks, I am going to give you all a wonderful early Christmas present. Let me first start by saying Clark's decision to break the titles up is a good one.
Let's start off with our new CEO for the Chiefs organization and a young man who will lead us into the next 20 years or more. His name is Martin Mayhew. After retiring from the NFL, Mayhew attended Georgetown University Law Center. He graduated in 2000 with a J.D. degree. Mayhew is the current Senior Vice President and has been promoted to acting General Manager of the Detroit Lions after the firing of Matt Millen. Mayhew's first move as acting General Manager was the trade of wide receiver Roy Williams and a 7th round draft choice to the Dallas Cowboys for Dallas' 1st, 3rd and 6th round draft choices in the 2009 NFL draft.
Next we are all familiar with our next President and Director of Football Operations, Marty Schottenheimer. 'nough said.
Marty's first move will be to hire a young man who is quickly becomeing a self made legend himself as our new GM, Scott Pioli.
And last, Pioli will bring in with Marty's blessing a man who needs no introduction to Chief fans to be our next head coach, Bill Cowher.
Let the games begin and shine that Lombardi trophy up good, because soon it will call Arrowhead home for quite awhile.
