Be nice…the point of contention (Carl) is gone and all any of us care about now is that the Chiefs find someone who can get this team back on track.
"Going younger" is not the same as improving unless it's followed by tangible results. When a bad team keeps the same management team that ran them into the toilet then goes "young" by getting rid of all of their older players, and replaces them with young players who aren't showing much improvement, it's not a rebuild...it's a salary dump and "rebuilding" is just the marketing strategy for the chumps to convince them to keep buying tickets.
The Chiefs should win 5 to 6 games this year and no less than 4 for this season to be considered progress in any way. If he can't win at least 9 games next season, Herm is a joke.

And I think blowing up everything immediately would set this team back even farther… But if the new GM finds a like-minded coach like Herm… who knows what his decision will be. The new GM will have a voice is what Clark also said.

With Carl and Herm gone, if we don’t completely botch the hiring of their replacements I sincerely believe this team has a shot at .500 or better next year with the talent level on hand.
They just need a coach who knows how to utilize that talent.

Herm's Day Is A Comin'
So he can duck responsibility all he wants for the last two games, but his chief protector is gone and now he’s got a new guy who’ll be wondering why the hell the coaching staff never takes responsibility for its performance.
And new GMs like bringing in their own guy to run things…especially when the previous coach wins four games or less. That way they don’t have to keep suffering through the mistakes of the previous regime.
