WK 15: Patrick Surtain 50 Yard Interception TD (via MYOWNSPORTS)
Are you really surprised that Patrick Surtain was burned later on in the game by Vincent Jackson? Sheesh that guy is slow.

Funny
I started that clip when he intercepted the pass, I took a break and went to the bathroom and when I came back he was still running.
We need a future defensive leader, his name is James Laurinaitis and he can be selected in round 1 of the upcoming Draft.

Was I Surprised
NO I was not surprised Surtain got burned. And what pissed me off even more was how after the game he made excuses for how he blew it.

I don't blame him for that...
…he’s using excuses like management has done since week 1. Why fault him for seeing that the “leaders” do it and him emulating them. The problem is noone has confronted them in the press conference. Whitlock did yesterday fro the first tiem this year when he asked Herm if he thought he’d be around next season. First time I can recall that was done in a long, long, time.
Bowe got burned earlier this season for his post game performance excuse and yesterday left the lockerroom without talking to the press…he at least learned his lesson that if he’s not going to take responsibility he’s got nothing to say that’ll be significant.
Surtain should learn the same lesson.
Bill Parcell’s: "You are what your record says you are."
The Chiefs need to be playoff contenders in 2009 for me to consider improvement. Clark wanted it in 2008...I'll give them an additional year.

When I saw it ...
He was running so slow I thought a lineman had picked it.
Then, I realized that it was Surtain and figured, with the way he was running, he must’ve pulled something (or, must’ve been afraid that he was going to pull something).
Then, he got chased down by Phillip freakin’ Rivers when he started celebrating at the 10-yard line, but still celebrated in the endzone like he’d gotten a touchdown and I just had to shake my head.
I figured the reason why he got burned by Vincent Jackson was because he was still winded from all of that running …
