Dorsey
I really wanted to do this for each rookie we've seen significant playing time from and could actually get a decent evaluation of.
I know you cant label him a bust hes only played 13 games, and I know the learning curve for linemen, and I expect him to get better(another impact player on the line would help) According to stats ive seen on here hes already passed The Great Warren Sapp in tackles, hes just has 2 less sacks. If you asked me Dorsey was brought here to stuff the middle pick up the double team and push the inside back. But what good is a double team when your DE cant beat anybody 1-on-1
I just wanted to know everyones thoughts on Dorsey are and where you think he will be next year.

He will improve over time
We put together some stats a month or so ago of Warren Sapp, Albert Haynesworth and several other pro bowl DTs. All of them got off to a slow start and some of them took a couple years before they reached their potential. Haynesworth took three or four years, but seeing how he plays now there is no question that he was a good pick.
The problem all young DTs have is that they are going up against much better competition than they did in college and it takes some adjustment time. A lot of the time in college they are so dominant they get by on their physical ability, but coming to the pros they have to learn technique and thats something that will take time.
I expect we will see a jump in his disruptivness next year and consistent improvment from there on out.

If we can get a good pass rusher
it’ll do wonders for Glenn Dorsey.

No, no
…he would’ve sucked here. Just ’cause ;)

The Chiefs need to be playoff contenders in 2009 for me to consider improvement. Clark wanted it in 2008...I'll give them an additional year.

Mario Williams only had 4.5 sacks his rookie year, and he was selected number 1 overall in 2006.
Then his production went up the roof with 14 sacks in 2007.
Opinions are like A--holes, everyones got one.

he has 11 this year too
and so many people labeled him as a bust after his 1st year.

Seriously...
It’s starting to look like Reggie Bush is the bust. Staring in music videos and rolling around in Kim Kardashian’s whip.
LAME!

Bush is definitely a bust
I’m not saying he’s a bad player but the 2nd overall pick in the draft should be more than a 3rd down back.

It is something that should have been considered when drafting him.
He wasn’t the primary back at USC either. He split time with Lindell White who wasn’t flashy but ran the ball well. Bush is someone you have to move around like a slash minus the passing. He is a playmaker in open space, but he is unable to run between the tackles and maintain any kind of durability. I guess hind sight is always 20/20

Correction
He WAS a playmaker in space.
You won’t believe this but last week Reggie has his FIRST NFL run over 30 yards in his career. The guy’s a bust.

Didn't say he wasn't
My point was that he shouldnt’ have been picked this high. Not defending the dude.
However he is tied for the fastest to 200 receptions ever. Only other person to do it as fast is Anquan Boldin. I agree he is a bust though.

I thought he had...
less than that. I remember everyone saying on draft day how stupid the Texans were for drafting him over Bush. I remember laughing at that fact. Running backs are the most disposible position on the field. Look at Steve Slaton. He was drafted in the 3rd round and he is tearing it up in front of a mediocre offensive line. This is exactly why we should have traded LJ. Now we are stuck with him.
