One thing we'll take from this season

They are hitting. And a lot of times, the tackling will be sloppy because they are trying to rip the ball EVERY TIME. This team is getting better.

Any improvement in the run defense

Those are the type of plays that often go unnoticed

but are positive plays. Dorsey’s, I mean.

That is why D-Tackles are hard to evaluate simply with statistics, same as offensive linemen. Overall, I think Dorsey has done a fine job this year.

My theory

I think that in the first half, we come out and, frankly, surprise them. The O gets into a rhythm and our Defense is able to play hot.

When the 2nd half rolls around, their offense gets into a rhythmafter making adjustments. Thigpen can’t sustain himself while sitting on the sidelines.

A lot of our struggles in the second half

can probably be attributed to coaching, I would think.

The San Diego D has made adjustments and is now covering Tony G a lot more, while we haven’t seemed to hav figured that out yet.

I think designed.

Thigpen was looking downfield, but he did it quick enough that I think it was merely to “fake out” the defense.

And Thigpen has never really checked down, at least not before all other options were taken care of.

Stupid play call. At least give Thigpen a chance to run around back there and try and make something happen.
