Predictions?
27-20 Chargers. I hate picking against the Chiefs but I don’t see any reason why LT won’t light us up today.
24-18 Chiefs
Why? Cause WE say so.
OR, alternatively, 34-27 Chiefs, LT goes down in the 3rd.

There’s that Chiefs podcast on iTunes, can’t remember who does it or its name or whatever, but it’s the #1 subscribed to Chiefs podcast. Anyways, this summer, the dude repeatedly referred to the kicker, #5, as “Barth Connor”.

great
penalty so early in the game. thought we had em w/ a 3 and out.
the worst part
was that there was no way LT makes that catch..

I know he's prolly not the all-time starter...
…and he might not even last till next year, but really… what improvement.

now
lets keep this going. D play hard and get the ball back.
that's 3 TDs in the last 2 1st quarters
i don’t care who does or does not deserve credit for this, it’s damn fun to see our offense clicking
the more i see it...
i believe now with herm edwards man…he’s the one to see thigpen from no where…he picked up mark bradley from nowhere either….
AD
eh, not sure herm is the one who deserves all the credit for that
i don’t know one way or the other, but i doubt he’s the one scouring the waiver wires…
man, he certainly earned that catch,
he got pounded a couple times. gotta love seeing the D hitting some people.
and gotta love the decent run-D so far.
dang. brought the blitz and got smoked.
i hope that doesn’t make us gun-shy for the rest of the game. we have GOT to try and get in and rattle rivers, make him throw a tantrum or two.
How are fantasy teams doing today?
I’m up 106-31 so far. And we’ve both played similar positions.

nice tackle, carr
any time there’s a pitch play it always makes me nervous. we seem to get burned on those plays.
yep, a lot of luck on D
comes from pressure, and playing heads up. this one was just a flat-out over-throw, but we’ve created some turnovers on hustle and hard hitting the last couple weeks.
and another
lets get another drive going and get another TD on the board.

One thing we'll take from this season
They are hitting. And a lot of times, the tackling will be sloppy because they are trying to rip the ball EVERY TIME. This team is getting better.
Let’s go, offense!

Any improvement in the run defense
is a welcome thing. I think we’ll be alright in the long run with our line.
by Chris Thorman on Nov 9, 2008 5:03 PM CST up reply actions
Those are the type of plays that often go unnoticed
but are positive plays. Dorsey’s, I mean.
That is why D-Tackles are hard to evaluate simply with statistics, same as offensive linemen. Overall, I think Dorsey has done a fine job this year.
Delhomme having a great game

7/22 for 72 yds

wow, that was probably the worst punt of colquitt's career
alright, D, let’s step it up and stop them again
and i mean that as kind of a backwards compliment.
he’s still our MVP for the last year and a half, if not longer.
Keep in mind.
We are going into like a 30 MPH wind.
In the 5th quarter, we’ll have the wind on our side and it should be a lot better.
Hasn't mattered much

It sucks playing backups and reserves and players who were sitting at home a week ago.
Come on Tyler. We need a dirve really bad right now.
We're doing pretty well
When you bring that into consideration. But what’s the deal…why do we get SO many people injured?
Can Charles just break a 70 yarder here.
I need it for fantasy
Young team's
usually are inconsistent
especially with all of these injuries
I strive to be the person my dog thinks I am.
My theory
I think that in the first half, we come out and, frankly, surprise them. The O gets into a rhythm and our Defense is able to play hot.
When the 2nd half rolls around, their offense gets into a rhythmafter making adjustments. Thigpen can’t sustain himself while sitting on the sidelines.
Whatyathink?
-cw
"If there’s a god he’s laughing at us and our football team." - Ben Folds
well, that was unimpressive
but there’s plenty of game left. lets see what the D can do now. i’m a little worried, w/ all the youngsters, and SD has had 3 quarters to read and potentially make adjustments.
A lot of our struggles in the second half
can probably be attributed to coaching, I would think.
The San Diego D has made adjustments and is now covering Tony G a lot more, while we haven’t seemed to hav figured that out yet.
it might be
if they’re making tons of penalties.
but they’re a young team playing with a lot of injuries
I strive to be the person my dog thinks I am.
Wellllllll
both of those passes to Tony G should have been flagged….he is still one on one but the guy is raping him…
wow..we might be watching the ultimate battle of ineptitude..

Exactly the play we needed.
I mean, it wasn’t a great play by any stretch by McGraw, but at least he caught a ball up in the air.

Fitting it into between multiple defenders.
OK, here we go Tyler. WE absolutely have to score on this drive.
No way are we winning this game if we don’t score on this drive.
Probably.
Even if we lose, at least we’ve been ‘this close’ three straight times, which even with L’s is infinitely better than getting spanked 34-0 and 34-10.
We are, as a team, playing significantly better.
Absolutely
We had reasons to cheer. And again, you can’t blame a quarterback for losing his rhythm when he’s been on the field for, like, 3 minutes all half.

Ridiculous Upside: All the "Almost NBA" info you can handle!
Looked like a clear out play
Quick pass to see if Savage could make a play. Pass was a little behind him though.
I think designed.
Thigpen was looking downfield, but he did it quick enough that I think it was merely to “fake out” the defense.
And Thigpen has never really checked down, at least not before all other options were taken care of.
Stupid play call. At least give Thigpen a chance to run around back there and try and make something happen.
cant finish
i swear we cant finish for shit. i think its play calling in the 2nd half is too conservative.

And for the record, I don’t go for two. Our D has played well enough, unlike last week.
Can't inside two minutes

Why they didn't review that I'll never know...
I’m not sure he got both feet in, but it was certainly close enough to review.
Mark Bradley

They review this shit?
But not the Bowe catch?
WTF?
That was absolutely positively a catch.
Oh, and I absolutely love Mark Bradley.
THIGPEN
…is making the throws when it matters….that is a great sign….
Additionally….THEY WILL REVIEW THIS BUT NOT BOWE’S?!?!?!??!?!
they're reviewing this play?
who want’s to egg the ref’s cars?
I strive to be the person my dog thinks I am.
yea, it's a make-up review,
since they missed the one to Bowe, they’re giving us the “timeout” while they review
What's amazing is
Thigpen’s accuracy over the last three games. It’s like he just flipped a switched and went from shitty to pretty good.
The switch to the spread.
Simpler reads, knows where he wants to go.
When you don’t have to focus on multiple reds, it is easier to be accurate.
WHAT THE FUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i have a 42in plasma in full hd. and i couldn’t tell if bradley was in or out! But they overturn it.
Don’t review bowes CATCH!
But they review this!!!!!!
Yeah.
We basically get a timeout here. Nice.
Although time isn’t really an issue at all, hopefully they can figure out some ways to dissect this Chargers D.

Oh, does it hurt, you Charger fuck?

Yeah.
After like four real PI’s, they finally call one that isn’t even there.
I’ll take it, but odd.
Ok.
3rd Down. Here we go Bones. Make this happen with your legs.

That's what I mean
They convert he’s a genious. He doesn’t he’s a goat
can't blame him.
I would have gone for it too. we needed a big lift. damn.

+1.
Good call, Herm.
It was a great play by the Chargers D.
I would rather us PLAY TO WIN THE GAME as opposed to us simply going into OT tied.
me too.

I still like the call.
That is three straight games we should have won. OH well.
Still love the call to go for two, though.
Herm earned some respect from me today…
Works for me.
not consHermative, that time!

Ugh...dammit
Yesterday my Cyclones got stuffed at the 1 yardline as time expired and now this…
The football gods hate me.
It's been a while
since a loss really hurt.
I really feel like we’re headed in the right direction.
It just kills me that Bones still doesn’t have a win. He’s played so well.
Ridiculous Upside: All the "Almost NBA" info you can handle!
I know.
And his detractors can keep pointing to the fact ‘he hasn’t won a game as a starter’.
But his winless record is infinitely better than Croyle’s winless record was last year, even though some of those games were decently close.
These games are a whole ’nother kind of close, though.
Higher draft position...
plus we played well…we need to get a full game…of offensive consistency…but…
HOLY HELL that Gonzalez catch was amazing….bounced off of him…off the defender…and then back into his arms…incredible

hey we gave it our all.
a win would have been nice, but we showed people something. since thigpen we havn’t got killed. we need a lil bit better play calling second half though. and officiating was a joke. that 2pt conversion, dude was all over TG.
+11111
more consistency, and less consHermative play-calling, and we’ll gt some wins

for what it's worth
we beat the spread

We better not hear one thing about Herm going for two there. It was the most sensible call given the teams condition.
1-7 team, rebuilding. Who cares? Let the boys have their fun.
A lot of people went down. Most of them looked minor (like a bunch of guys used to a college season getting knicked) and shouldn’t be a problem.
Did anyone else really enjoy this game? Everyone looked good. They at least are defining what needs to be improved. It’s not such madness anymore.
The team is slowly leaving the insane asylum.
I am making the trip from Florida for the game next week
I am looking forward to it more now than a few weeks back.
nope
i was hoping herm would go for 2, regardless if we made it or not. we gave it a shot. we played imo great granted the injuries that we had.
