Updates
Kevin Robinson and Michael Merritt were added to the active roster today. They let go Tyron Brackenridge, Steve Weatherford and JP Foschi. Kolby Smith was also put on the IR. Also Mark Bradley also jumped up to starting WR.
I don't know how you guys feel but I'm excited to see Kevin Robinson hopefully play next sunday. Maybe give us a spark on his first career kick return. He's not a burner but boy can he shake and move.
Thoughts?

Nice catch Dono
I’m excited about Robinson, if he actually does play soon. It could be that he won’t be ready for a few weeks but they had to make the decision to activate him now or keep him off the roster for the rest of the year.
As far as Merritt goes…eh, who cares?

Jason Dunn helped our running game a ton
Maybe Merrit can do the same.

True
But after missing the majority of the season I don’t see him doing much until 09.

This whole season is essentially about getting ready for next year
So it doesnt make much difference I guess.

Agreed
Who cares about Merritt? Are you crazy? Who cares about our draft picks, y’mean? I don’t care if he was 7th round or not – we drafted him and I want to see us get all the miles out of him we can. I’ve been saying since the offseason I hope Merritt turns into the next Dunn. I hope they both get to see action Sunday and these roster moves are great news in my opinion! Thanks for the info Dono

except that the AFC West will likely suck again
I think SD is on it’s way downhill
The Raiders are ridiculous
The only team on the upswing might be Denver…The Broncos could be a Super Bowl contender if they could become consistently average on defense.

Seems like people use to say that about Vermiel’s Chiefs?

The sad reality of this may be
that if Kolby didn’t go down for the year that K-Rob may have not gotten his chance. I don’t know that, but it seemed like Herm and the coaches were content with Savage’s performance and if we didnt have to fill Kolby’s spot Savage may have never played HB this season. I hate seeing him go to the IR, but I am delighted we’ll get to see the Charles/Battle/Savage trio for at least 1 game and that ALL our draft picks receive playing time.

I'm not so sure about that.
Herm said at the press conference today that even after Merritt and Robinson were added, they still had two open spots on the roster that they are looking at other guys to fill.
