What is Mizzou's Signature Win?

I know this is an NFL site but…

Can someone help me find Mizzou's big win this year?  The Illini?  Cornhuskers?  This team is a joke.  Chase Daniels is a joke, the player takes every big game off.   How was he ever in the Heisman talks?  I suppose he did put up some big numbers against powerhouses like Buffalo and Nevada.

One thing for sure, I’ll take a big game player like Darrell Stuckey on the Chiefs any day.

MU, my alma matter, is once again clowned

@ Nebraska.

Which seems like a much better win now than it was at the time. The Cornhuskers team that beat Kansas would give the Tigers a run for their money, although Missouri is still the better team and probably would still win.

Even as a huge Kansas fan, Missouri is the better football team this year. However, they were never a true National Championship contender as they were made out to be, and don’t have much of a chance in the Big 12 Championship Game next week.

Of course, neither did we today, according to the experts, so whatever.

And regarding Chase Daniel, the guy is still a good QB. But I’m convinced that Todd Reesing is a better college QB, and that Chase Daniel makes way too many mistakes and force-jobs to truly be an awesome, elite QB. I don’t think Reesing fits into the elite category either, but I think he’s closer than Daniel.

Stuckey? Oh. My. Goodness. The kid was insane today. He is usually really good, but rarely as outright dominant as he was today.

Missouri is hardly the better team,

they’re going to finish the season losing three in a row.

You clowns will be 8-5.

Not a lot of difference there.

And Mangino continues to own Pinkel.

Nebraska is not a signature win.

nebraska

could count as a signature loss though for some teams.

oh baby, what a pants design!

It is college football. You all are clowns.

You must be pissed that that game didn’t matter because Mizzou clinched the north before that game. KU beat MU have fun in your crappy bowl.

This Is Why I Generally Don't Discuss KU-MU On This Board

We already do plenty of sniping at each other over the Chiefs, and we’re all rooting for the same team. Given the level of animosity between the two schools it’s just inviting us to really hate each other if we get bogged down in the Border War stuff. If we really want to discuss that somebody should set up a site dedicated specifically to that rivalry.

For my money it was an all-time classic game yesterday, I’m happy that the Hawks won of course, but I thought Missouri made a game of it and didn’t have anything to be ashamed of.

Supporting the lesser of two evils is still supporting something evil.

its only a classic to you because you won

no matter how badly and sloppy the opposition was.

its not a classic. It was a close game.

It Was Classic

Missouri took that game down to the final seconds with that field goal attempt. Had it not been blocked it very well may have gone the other way because Wolfert’s good enough to hit from that distance.

Don’t be down on your team just because they lost…they made a game of it.

yeah really nice how they stayed in there against a 500 team

lotsa guts shown there. Or not
Wolfert is a choking dog.

Missouri needs a heart transplant

I'm Not Sure If You're A Missouri Fan

But if you are I’m not going to be the one who defends MU’s football team from its fans…not my job. :)

I find it interesting

How certain people are just plain hard on their team, no matter whether its the Chiefs, Tigers or Jayhawks. Is it just high expectations? Competitivness?

The Tigers are a good team. The Jayhawks lost a couple of good players last year and aren’t near what they were then. Yesterdays game is yet another reminder that when it comes down to rivalries, your record or level of talent doesn’t matter quite as much.

+1

Ole miss beat Florida, USC lost to Oregon State. It happens. Congrats to KU for the win but they didn’t get it done in any of the games that they should have. Yesterday was KU’s championship game. MU is still playing in the Big 12 championship.

where MU is going to get barbecued

and the residue will get toasted in whatever 3rd rate bowl still wants MU

Got To Agree

The Big 12 South rebounded in a huge way this year. I don’t think anyone from the North would have a shot against the South champ this year.

The point is that yeah they lost to KU but it didn't really change anything.

It is college football. This win makes KU’s whole season. Good win congrats! It really doesn’t matter though you got a stupid drum and MU gets a shot. They probably won’t win, but it is college football. Speaking of third. Didn’t KU finish third in the North? Sleep tight.

Our Biggest Losses In Personnel

Were Talib and McClinton…McClinton more than Talib. The defensive line just can’t rush the passer that effectively. So the Chiefs aren’t the only team in this region that should be scouting for defensive linemen for next year. :)

+1.

And field position killed us all year, a direct result of the loss of key blockers Derek Fine and Brandon McAnderson. Obviously, our running game struggled as well because of the loss BMac, but one of the best return games in 2007 got turned into merely a below-average unit this season because Herford didn’t have wedges to run through.

We had holes yesterday because, well, because Dezmon Briscoe is ridiculous.

But they're not a good team.

They put up stats against no ones and shit their pants when they face any sort of competition.

by HIV 2 Elway on Nov 30, 2008 1:26 PM CST up reply actions   0 recs

What about Briscoe

That kid was a stud, but anyways, MU played very very well at the end of the game and KU just had a better team, but KU is not really that bad of a team, they lost to Texas, Texas Tech and Oklahoma, who are all amazing teams and could dominate just about anyone, they lost to South Florida which they should have won but South Florida at the time was ranked and is a good football team, and they lost to Nebraska who is playing their asses of right now, If Mu had the schedule that KU had they would have lost at least three, whihc they have already with a weaker schedule, KU was the better team, on Sunday and played better

if mu sucks so bad what is ku's signature win? k-state?

teams are two touchdown favorites for a reason. ku won, so props to them. mu had a disappointing season but we are back to back big 12 champs, something ku has never done once.

oh baby, what a pants design!

Big 12 North champs, thanks.

And, technically speaking, you have been back-to-back Big 12 North CO-Champs.

Last year, you guys shared the title with us. This year with the Fuskers.

So, sure, quite impressive, but let’s not get too carried away.

by rockchalk on Dec 1, 2008 1:36 AM CST up reply actions   0 recs

well, both years

we won the head to head tie breaker, so there really was no doubt about who the champion was.

oh baby, what a pants design!

by zubaz pants revival on Dec 1, 2008 1:57 AM CST up reply actions   0 recs

I know.

Just trying to go off of what the official word coming out of the Big 12 offices says.

We have a Big 12 North Co-Champs trophy from last season, and the Huskahs will get a trophy this year.

Sure, you guys were (likely) the better team both years, but it wasn’t like you were so much better. Both times, you had the same exact record as another team in the conference.

Good luck in the Championship game, though. I think it will be closer than most are predicting.

sore winners

p.s.- so much venom after a win just screams inferiority complex.
