"The problem was we lost our starting corner and our nickel back. We had two young guys in there and one of them was cut earlier and we brought him back this week and he had to play a lot. No fault of his, but he had to go play. [CB Maurice] Leggett had to play a lot because [CB Brandon] Flowers went down. We tried to hide him as much as we could but they found him and completed some passes that way."

Great fucking boost of confidence Herm
for Leggett. Why don’t you just single him out?
To anyone who says this game wasn’t lost because of coaching(directed @ DJ and those in the other thread), I say get a clue
No loss has hurt more this season than this one. Clark Hunt, I hope you’re watching!
We should have won these last 2 games…

Always An Excuse With Herm
A better statement would be “We lost because I decided to handcuff the offense for the second half and decided to rely instead on our terrible defense.”
He never accepts responsibility for the performance of this team. Never.
Supporting the lesser of two evils is still supporting something evil.
Amen
We would more than likely be talking about a win if the offense would have been allowed to pour it on, like they did in the first half.
Herm sounds like a broken record
Hey UC…how many times have we said Herm always blames someone else? Is Herm’s BS getting old or what? I mean seriously, I think we need to change the topic to …whether Herm “believes” this drek or if he just wants to save face?
I think it’s the latter. He can’t be that thickheaded to actually believes what he spews.
Just keep matriculating the ball down the field boys.
Big one
On Gonzalez’s offensive pass interference penalty: "We’ll look at it but it’s a bang-bang play and is something not for instant replay. The official made the call and Tony made a great catch. If we get that catch the game is probably over."
We can argue all day about whether Gonzalez “pushed off” of Barber, but I know two things for certain
1) Barber was touching Tony, and NEVER looked back for the ball (pass interference)
2) When the ball was snapped, Barber grabbed Tony like he was trying to dance with him to keep Tony from getting behind him (holding)
At the very least, it should have been offsetting penalties.
Hochuli
what an MVP performance this season

Cant blame him for that call
he was behind the QB
"But what do I know, I’m like an empty room with a large ECHO"
For those that have been thinking I've been pretty hard on the team for the loss this week
…it is absolutely due to Herm’s comment. Totally turned my attitude towards negatively about the game, players etc.
I cannot believe he actually said that.
We’ve lost some heartbreaking games, but this comment today put me over the edge. I can’t support a HC of a team that treats his players with utmost disrespect.
Just keep matriculating the ball down the field boys.
Oh my god guys....
Can you be happy with ANYTHING? We lost Kolby Smith early in the 2nd half, we lost 2 of our top 3 corners, and we got screwed by the refs. Not to mention we fumbled the ball on the 5 yard line. NONE of that is Herm’s fault. Even in the 2nd half I think we only had 1 three and out.
When we’re down to 3 corners, the best of which is a rookie 5th round starter, then it’s not hard to march down the field on a team. Toss in a couple Turk McBride penalties, and that’s the game.
Maurice Legett is a project for us. He’s a dime corner for us right now, not a straight up man-to-man guy against their #2.
