“The players have got to take it over,” Edwards said. “They’ve eventually got to do it. They’ve got to go do it because there’s no magical plays. There’s no magical calls. You can make some decisions for them. But at the end, they’ve got to go play. They’ve got to go win.”
Riiiiight...gotcha. Playcalling (some decisions) has got nothing to do with it and isn't even a factor.
Edwards said that, yes, most of the Chiefs players are young. Eighteen players on Kansas City’s 53-man roster are rookies, but that has become a tired refrain around a team that’s desperate for wins or progress or growth — anything to give the Chiefs something to talk about other than losing;
We agree on that. Glad to see that's not an excuse from the coach. Maybe others will realize that players are there to improve themselves and the positions for a "team win" regardless of age.
“They’re getting closer,” Edwards said.
To winning A GAME or winning consistently? Big difference.
And Edwards said that if it were up to him, the Chiefs wouldn’t head to the locker room during halftime. They’d stand outside and watch the entertainment, gulp some water and head back on the field. Maybe that would cure the Chiefs’ second-half woes
Do it. It IS up to you as HC. Seems that the "second half woes" aren't being fixed with your half-time diatribe (or lack thereof).
“Something’s happening to us,” Edwards said. “That’s the quarter we’ve got to get over.”
Maybe you should ask someone that might have the answer since you can't put your finger on it?
He said coaches have done their part and will continue to do so, and now it’s the players’ turn.“All you can do is try to put them in the situation when the game is being played and they’ve got to go make the plays. As coaches, we can make a call or put them in position, but they have to pull the trigger and do it.”
Seriously, not ONE single acceptance of responsibility from this man ever. Not ONE.
Vote for Edwards 2012... a political leader regardless of affiliation. Herm's the man and it's the world's fault...not ours.
