Eureka High grad Andy Studebaker has a new NFL home. The Kansas City Chiefs have signed Studebaker off of the Philadelphia Eagles practice squad. Studebaker will make his Chiefs debut Sunday at home versus Buffalo. Studebaker worked out with Kansas City prior to the 2008 NFL Draft. Now, he's a Chiefs player. Andy's father Ken told me his son was very excited to get a chance to get on the field as a Chief and believes today's signing is a great move in his NFL career.

Studebaker is a defensive end/linebacker type, which makes absolutely perfect sense in the Chiefs' current injury situation. More on him here.

Why haven't we just been stealing people off practice squads all this time, anyways?

We Do
In fact, Thigpen was released by the Vikings and they planned on adding him to the practice squad but we plucked him up before they could.

Besides Thigpen.
That was a much-publicized steal.

Did KGB get picked up?
They keep picking up these scrubs when there are veterans out there who can actually play. Is it a money issue? Where’s Jimmy Wilkerson when you need him? Eric Hicks anybody. Shit isn’t Vonnie Holiday still around? Oh yeah these guys retired or are actually playing for someone.
