Should Herm keep his job?
Our team is finally seeing some progress on offense, but still can't win a game.
This is a rebuilding season, but playcalling has cost us a few games that would have provided some confidence for our young players. Alot can be blamed on our QB issues, but Herms the one who had faith in a frail Brokie Croyle.
Herms record in KC is 14-47 , and that's not going to get us a ring ( or anywhere close). Herm's winning percentage has never been above .500 in 8 years of coaching. Since he's been here we've also let go of some players that were great leaders, Hall, Mitchell, ect.
Should Herm be HC in KC next season ? ( He will, but I'd like to see what you guy's think.)

Yep he should be
If only to continue what’s he’s started the last few years. Next year will be the year to judge Herm, not this year.
I Don't Think So
His game management is still garbage and he still doesn’t take responsibility for the product on the field, but he’s most likely coming back anyway so I’m resigned to it.
Supporting the lesser of two evils is still supporting something evil.
IF
He needs to let his OC and DC do their job how they see fit and keep his nose out of it. Chan and Gun have both been very successful and very creative through the years and as long as they are left alone to decide I think they will continue to get this team better.
The analogy I like...
Should we keep Herm? Should we stay in Iraq?
Sure it would be nice to just pull out all willy-nilly but things would end up being worse than they were before.
By the way
Herm has gotten us to the playoffs as many times as Dick Vermeil did.
I strive to be the person my dog thinks I am.
And
He’s been to two fewer Super Bowls than Vermeil has in his career.
Supporting the lesser of two evils is still supporting something evil.
not a fair example
seeing that Vermeil had 15 years and Edward’s only 8
I strive to be the person my dog thinks I am.
Vermeil Went To A Super Bowl In His Third Season
How many has Herm made it to in eight?
Supporting the lesser of two evils is still supporting something evil.
The same amount
that Tony Dungy had in his first eight years
I strive to be the person my dog thinks I am.
And
What has Tony Dungy’s record been over his first seven and a half years compared to Herm’s?
I love how people try to argue that Herm isn’t a bad coach by cherry-picking some small piece of trivia off the resume of a much better coach. Herm loses more games than he wins and after seven years he’s never taken his team close to a Super Bowl. That’s why he’s a crappy coach. He’s not comparable to Dungy or Vermeil or Parcells or any other top coach because unlike Herm those coaches actually won most of their games instead of finding excuses for why they couldn’t.

You mean like how you try to cherrypick his 4 playoff seasons?
By saying they were with someone elses team or because they didn’t win the division?
That's Someone Else's Argument
I don’t cherrypick his seasons…I’m the one who points out he didn’t win his division in any of them.
Supporting the lesser of two evils is still supporting something evil.
We have won what
One game in the last 21? You all know my feelings on this, but I fear since they have been playing better lately he will get one more year.
Yeah thats terrible
It would be terrible to discover that all those losses weren’t really Herms fault after all but was because of the lack of talent, QB and all the rookies since once you start solving those problems they start playing better and eventually start winning again. Who’s the scapegoat going to be then?
I Think I'm Going To Blame DJ
I’ll make him a scapegoat for all the fans who would rather make excuses for a bad head coach than expect their coach to win games. :)
Supporting the lesser of two evils is still supporting something evil.
OK DJ
What is your excuse you are working on for next year? I say something, not bashing stating fact, and yet you want to ridicule my point, whatever dude. The dude is a joke, I hear him speak I wanna tear my ears off. Even though they are playing better the last three games, what is your excuse when Hermy, says I have my power back again, lets run the ball no matter how many times they stop it! And yes the losses are Herms fault, it is his job to prepare the team, what we seen have seen since he has been here, poor clock management, inability to adjust in game, and oh yeah lets call a timeout before we challenge this questionable play!
And the players
are what Herm wants, so yeah losses fall in his lap!
Only in KC
Only fans of this team would defend a coach who has lost 20 of 21 games. No real fan pressure on ol’ Herm, just like there’s no real pressure from the fanbase on the GM who’s been on the job for decades with not a single Super Bowl appearance to show for it.
People confuse loyalty to the team for loyalty to the individuals who happen to have been hired by the team. The individuals lucky enough to be employed by this team need to be held accountable for producing. They never seem to be though.
Why is Herm Edwards the very best coach for this team, out of the dozens of pro football coaches in the league? That should be the question, not “should that poor nice guy lose his job when he might not totally be to blame for everything?” Make the case why he is the best coach for us, out of all the potential coaches out there. Good luck with that.
He’s not going anywhere till Peterson does, and Peterson’s the real problem with this organization. We need a new GM with new ideas, and that guy needs to pick the coach that he feels is the best for this team. If that guy wants to stick with Edwards, well, he should be held accountable for that decision, no matter who he chooses.

Yeah pretty much right on. The problem is that when you write that you’re accussed of being a “hater”, “bandwagoner”, and every other negative word.
“Rebuilding”, is the excuse. They’ll ride that horse as long as they can. The problem is that the rebuilding should’ve produced positive results…it hasn’t. A few “improving loses” that some people claim makes us look better, but the score doesn’t lie. A few bright plays here and there…a few individual sparks…but the score doesn’t lie. A few games played well for 58 minutes…but the score doesn’t lie.
We haven’t improved from week 1. We are still a weak team and our record clearly shows that the leadership doesn’t know how to build after a complete offseason as well as 11 weeks (including the bye). It’s not the players…they didn’t pay to play, they were chosen and it isn’t the injuries since there are 53 men on the roster…11 ST…11 O, 11 D…which leaves 20 on the bench and let’s not forget the practice squad. They were CHOSEN by the org. and other teams are just fine with 2nd and 3rd stringers stepping up.
