AP Draft Guide
Guys I had to get up early this morning for a working fire and when I finally got home something hit me. We have had a few posts recently that have been looking at draft day possibilities and it will soon get to a point where things are too difficult to keep up with. I myself am working on a final season analysis of the college middle linebackers. Then it hit me. With all of the talent we have on here as contributors, why dont we take the next two weeks and develop a college draft guide analysis by position? My thoughts are for someone to take a position and get all the pertinant information on the top 10 players at that position and any honorable mentions and develop the guide.
When all is said and done, we will have all 22 positions looked at and reports about the prospects from an almost first hand perspective. We have two weeks left in the college season so each of us have an opportunity to see most of these guys play one or two more games. We can even include kickers but I am not so sure we need to look at punters. :)
Anyways I hope you guys are game and I say lets get the ball rolling. All reports should be ready for publishing by November 25th. That way Chris and Primetime can decide how to post the section that will remain available through the draft.

A couple things
One, with the holidays coming up, we should move the Nov. 25th date back a little bit.
Two, I’ll take tight ends.
You and Chris pick a date, but I
wish it could be before th bowl games. That way we would have some time to soak in the information and know who to watch during those games.
"But what do I know, I’m like an empty room with a large ECHO"
Also, can you fix the post so people can sign up right on it?
The way we did the mock draft last year.

Draft Spreadsheet
I already have a draft spreadsheet that i believe most of you would give your eye teeth to obtain. There are actually two draft spreadsheets, a basic and enhanced. The basic sheet was created by an individual on another site, who also looked up and entered all the data. Last year he indicated that would likely be the last one. I took the basic sheet and spent time enhancing it.
The basic sheet ranked 714 draft prospects by individual data and ratings from the different experts. As an example the sheet listed Name, School, Position, Height, Weight, 40 Time, SSR (average size/speed ratios by position), Ranking by 11 services, Average Ranking, and difference. The players were then sorted, and it gives you a very good idea how they will be drafted. Behind the sheet listing the total rankings were sheets for each position. if you want to see the OT tackles available it is simply a matter of looking at the the OT sheet. Looking up and entering the data is what takes time.
The enhanced sheet contains everything included on the basic sheet, and is interactive. It allows you to enter players as they are drafted, team drafting, notes, and then puts them in order. I am looking at having a sheet for a Mock draft and another listing the picks of one team, or I might fix it so you can show all the picks by the team of your choosing. I will send Chris and Lanier63 a copy of each sheet
Can we form just one group of guards and tackles?
Since I played this position I will take both left and right OT. If we don’t get enough people I will take another position if necessary.

I'll take QBs.
Great idea.
I think we should save it for the offseason, though, but I’m game whenever.
I thought if we do it now,
we can get a better look at the prospects with a game or two remaining plus the possiblity if they play in a bowl game.

Nice Idea Lanier, I'll help with QB since I've already started on a couple prospects...
Harrell, and John Parker Wilson. If that’s okay with Direkshun?

I'll take defensive ends.
Although I wouldn’t be opposed to someone else doing it as well. I’m going to this week’s KU-UT game, and will play close attention on one Brian Orakpo.
Tackle's
I’ll take RT’s but the hard part of scouting is how to determine what side of the line the tackle will play in the NFL. For these considerations I’d suggest lumping all Guards positions together & all Tackle’s together…

Oopps
Didn’t see JasonM’s post! First come first serve! I’ll take leftovers from what he chooses

Dang
I had the whole FanPost edited with the positions everyone signed up for then my internet connection timed out. Give me a little bit and I’ll update it.
In the mean time, rec this up so it doesn’t get buried.
I would comtribute but
not sure how well I would do and this sight deserves the great analysis that you regulars provide. I will leave it to the ones who have been on here a while.

You are more than welcome
To pick any available position.

Lanier63
I found some linebacker film on youtube that might help you with the research. go to youtube and find the user called thebutkusaward he has film on 19 linebackers. Hope that helps.

awesome!
That is why this idea should work because of each others willingness to have the best information.

What do you think about lumping all OT/OG/DE together?
Go to Wide World of Roto for all your fantasy news!
I meant that LT/RT should be together
LG/RG should be together, and LDE/RDE should be together. 3 seperate groups instead of 6.

If you look up NFLdraftparty on youtube
THere are a lot of different draft hopefuls on there.

I nominate myself for Punters.
It will pretty much go like this: We have Colquitt. We do not need to draft a punter.
Should we each put up a list
with the top 10 players at that position, that way everybody can help us add and subtract to our list.

I think that would help
Why don’t we try and get our list up in a separate fan post by this Sunday.

I think everybody should put up a seperate fanpost
that way players don’t get mixed up.

So...
Do I have the Cornerbacks? It’s probably my favorite position in football. I played it in High School as well as in college. When I watch football, I keep my eye on the CB’s (aside from the O-line.
I’m just waiting to see my name on that list, so I can get started.
Draft Spreadsheet
Read my reply near the top in case any of you are interested in a draft worksheet.. Most of the work has already been completed.
