Hardly a surprise, but the Chiefs’ Nielsen television rating for the Panthers game was not good. And it’s likely the rating started out OK on Sunday but as the game wore on, that rating diminished greatly.

The final number was a season-low 23.2, sliding under the 23.4 from the Chiefs-Falcons game.

That 23.2 is now the lowest rating since the Chiefs posted a 20.7 for the Chiefs-Jets on Nov. 11, 2001.

I wonder

if we were 4-1 instead of 1-4 would there be any comments here?

There's An Old Saying About Buying Cars

That when you’ll only hear from the customers when they’re unhappy…when they’re happy they’d rather drive the car than write the company about it.

Of course there’s another saying that represents the other end of this debate from my time in the military (made in “The Thin Red Line” but it’s an actual train of thought). “Only time you have to worry about a soldier is when he stops bitching.” The application to football blogs being that once the team gets bad enough then people will also stop writing in to complain because they’ll simply no longer care what the team does. I may very well hit that point if Peterson gets that indefinite extension.

For the record, though, I’d still comment even if things were good…it’s a lot more fun talking about how we match up in a game when we’re in a contest of more or less equals rather than predicting we’re going to get our asses kicked every week (and being right most of the time).

Supporting the lesser of two evils is still supporting something evil.

In all fairness

That Ladies Bowling Tour match on ESPN aired opposite the Chiefs game, and it was pretty damn compelling.
