Morning Update (Future HOFer Edition)

I'll be back with more soon but on a quick side note, I highly encourage everyone to take advantage of using the 'rec' button for FanPosts.  As I'm sure you've noticed we are getting more and more every day (especially game days), so definitely 'rec' the quality ones up so they don't get lost in the shuffle.

Gates

He’s got the same abiity as Tony Gonzalez, but I don’t think he’s going to stay healthy enough to beat the record.

Supporting the lesser of two evils is still supporting something evil.

He's 28

And about 500 catches away. He’s averaging 80/year for the last 4 years. It would take a long, long time.

Especially considering TG has plenty left in the tank.

No one is doubting that Tony still has a Tiger in his tank, it’s the rest of the umm “team” around him that people doubt.

Blame my wife!

Was at the "game" on Sunday...

and no mention of Tony’s record-breaking catch whatsoever. No PA announcement, no scoreboard graphic, nothing. If it were a KC record, OK, fine, that makes sense. But an NFL career record? C’mon.

They wouldn’t have had to stop play, or make a big deal about it, but the complete lack of acknowledgment seemed pretty classless to me. Then again, that would be in keeping with the behavior of the Panther fans on the walk back to the parking lot.

After the play

It didn’t really even look like his own teammates were pumping him up on the sidelines. If I were them I’d have every player on the sidelines waiting for him.

It was the worst way to break a career record

so it doesn’t really surprise me no one made much out of it. It’s just unfortunate.

have you seen my baseball?

by IISaiNtII on Oct 7, 2008 9:53 AM CDT reply actions

It is not about

Individual effort it is about continuity. Why would his teammates be waiting on him? There is no emotion whatsoever on this team. TG deserves so much better than this, he is a true warrior. Looking back, the coaching staff should have made this possible at home against the Donks. I think part of the reason TG wanted the record so bad that day is because it would have came with a win, and he probably felt that was going to be their only win this season.

eh

Tony should have broke it at home. Gates will not be as good . and the NFl should have made this a bigger deal. anyways on a funny note i was at a Raiders forum and some of the fans came up with a site to overthrow AL Davis it is kind of humorous RAIDERNATIONRETALIATION.COM

They Had A Great Piece

Where you can “boot” Carl Peterson.

Whats the site in KC?

I’d love to kick Carl in the butt during work all day with my mouse!

"But what do I know, I’m like an empty room with a large ECHO" huh Angry?

There’s not much to it once you kick him a couple of times.
