Tony G is the man
I don't know if any of you have seen this yet but I just read an article that spoke of Tony G donating football equipment to a Los Angelas High School football team who had gotten there equipment stolen. He bought all new helmets and pads for the entire team. It also went on to say that Tony G did not go to High School there but that he had heard about what had happened and wanted to make sure the kids could still play. When asked about it Tony replied,"I didn't do this as a publicity stunt. I don't even know how you found out about it but I did it because football is football and those kids needed some help."

Why do we not here more of this stuff.
ESPN should at least say something. But instead we get more stuff on guys getting arrested or Chad Johnson is going to be talking more.
My high school did the same ting for a baseball team that had its school destroyed in a tornado, it was baseball uniforms and equipment. We didn’t even play the team.

Since I work in the media
the reason why ESPN and other sporting news outlets don’t report on the good news is because good news gets bad ratings. It’s a business and people like to hear the bad stuff about people to make them feel better. I’m not saying it’s right I’m just saying how it is.
I strive to be the person my dog thinks I am.

It's Like The Old Saying
It’s not news when 1,000 planes land safely, only when one crashes.

Just another example of small market shaft....ness
Hines Ward gave equipment as well, but this was to his own high school so PFT will report it. If you ask me since it wasn’t Tony’s own high school he doesn’t deserve coverage.
In related news, a girl I know from here in Omaha made out with Larry Johnson a few weeks back.

Weak
What would it not being his highschool have to do with it? I’ll hold my tongue now before I say something ugly.

Tony G is awesome
Greatest Chief ever, perhaps on the field and off.

I'll Still Give The Award To Len Dawson
Mainly because QB’s a more important position than TE, because Dawson was the leader of our two Super Bowl teams and because Dawson’s done a lot more than Tony G off the field (Inside the NFL host for 24 years, analyst for KCFX and NBC). Maybe Tony G. goes off and does a lot more post-football, but for right now I think the nod’s still got to go to Len.

And For Off The Field Stuff
I don’t think anyone’s topped what Joe Delaney did.
That’s not to take away from Tony G. because he seems like a class act. Just saying that there are a lot of Chiefs players who’ve done good (even great) things on and off the field, it’s just that Tony’s the most visible one at this point (because he’s still playing) so we tend to give him more weight based on that.

Wichita
I’ve been here for a little over two years, and I was in the Army for the 10 years before that (most of the time overseas). My name’s not actually Crawford…UCrawford is just a random screen name I created that I use when I post stuff online.
I did go to KU and lived in Lawrence for a couple of years after that, back in the early and mid ’90s.
