A few Questions with... JScott, Bucs Blogger
Hello Chiefs fans, JScott here from Buc 'Em welcoming you to Buccaneers-Chiefs week. As part of the cross-blogging that will be going on all week between Buc 'Em and Arrowhead Pride, we figured we would create these FanPosts on each others sites to answer any questions that were out there about each team.
Got a Bucs question? Let 'er rip! I look forward to a unpredictable game Sunday. Good luck, and ask me any questions about the Bucs, the game, etc!
I'll check back in regularly to get those questions answered!
This is a FanPost and does not necessarily reflect the views of Arrowhead Pride's writers or editors. It does reflect the views of this particular fan though, which is as important as the views of Arrowhead Pride writers or editors.

Welcome
Gaines Adams….is he starting to come into his own? The Chiefs will hopefully be looking at adding a premier pass rusher like Adams. I’d like to hear your thoughts on his progression thus far.

he's finally showing those instincts
on the field of play that we heard so much about. He doesnt have huge sack numbers (4), but he’s pressured the Quarterback almost ten-fold compared to last season. He also has two interceptions, one of which was returned for a touchdown. He’s really come into his own this season. You can tell he’s a lot more confident out there and he’s able to get pressure from both sides of the line.
His run defense has also improved. Last season you could see him getting pushed off the line and at times he would get lost in the chaos. That hasnt happened this season.

And one more thing
Quit stealing all the QBs in this league. We need one too!

hey man
i’d be happy if we had just one serviceable Quarterback who could withstand the punishment of NFL defenses. I long for the day in which we field a franchise Quarterback… One Day, one day
at least you had Joe Montana for a brief period

Draftnik questions.
The Bucs were not praised for a very good draft.
- Aqib Talib has been a fan favorite on the Kansas side of the KC border. Most thought the Bucs reached for him in the first, though. Is Talib really what the doctor ordered in Tampa?
- What’s the word on Zuttah? 3rd round guards are usually expected to start right away.
- It’s a shame Moore didn’t pan out from the 4th round. What’s the deal there, and is there any buzz surrounding him on the practice squad?
- I LOVED Josh Johnson in the late 5th. Tell me something positive about him. I just know he could be a solid backup in this league.

good stuff
i dont know that Talib was what the doctor ordered. Ronde Barber has several years left in him and Talib is expected to replace him, though the Bucs could let Ronde walk when his tenure is up (wouldnt surprise bucs fan i.e. Lynch, Dunn, Sapp etc). He is a very good player and provides us a solid corner for the future. The Bucs desperately needed help on the offensive side of the ball and a player like DeSean Jackson could have provided that. Granted the Bucs would have looked foolish drafting him that early, but i would say he’s played pretty well to this point in the season.
In regards to Talib, do you know how often (if at all) he returned kickoffs or punts while at Kansas? It’s a source of need for our team and I wonder why Gruden has yet to use Aqib in this role considering his supreme confidence and athletic ability…
Jeremy Zuttah has been an absolute blessing. He filled in for RG Davin Joseph for the first 4 or 5 weeks of the season and played at a ridiculously high level for a Rookie, especially considering who he was replacing. Joseph came back and Zuttah immediately filled in on the left side of the line at Guard. The Pro Bowl is definitely in his future. The Bucs traded Dan Buenning in the off-season, have sparingly used Sean Mahan, and recently released Anthony Davis. Jeremy Zuttah has had a huge impact thus far…
Moore came in out of shape, was told he needed to get in shape, and didnt. That’s all there was to it. It’s pretty sad considering the Bucs traded up to draft him. There’s been several call-ups and cuts from the Practice Squad this season but no word on Moore. Evidently he was a slow started in College too, so hopefully he pans out later on down the road. He did show life in our final pre-season game, but not enough to escape his inadequacies.
He looked good in the Pre-Season? Is that positive enough? If not, he’s looked comfortable carrying a clipboard this season. Nah, he looked really good in Training Camp, on target and in sync with the offense despite barely having a grasp of it. We’re hoping he’s more than a solid back-up in the league…

How would you (as the Bucs) attack the Chiefs?
The Jets, thankfully, decided to ignore the run last week (even though we still managed to give up another 50+ yard TD run), how would you attack us?
Galloway out, Bryant coming on, Ernest and Warrick, it seems like this would be an easy game plan against us.

like you said
logic would say to run the ball, but our Head Coach LOVES to pass the pigskin. We’ve only had two games in which 30 or fewer passes were thrown. The problem with those passes are that they are the 5-7 yard variety. Every now and then the Bucs will sprinkle in a 15-20 yard gainer, but absolutely nothing down field. Warrick Dunn should be a bit healthier this week so i expect he and Graham to get back in sync. Joey Galloway will be in his second game and so i expect him to have a more productive day as well.
The Bucs should attack the Chiefs with their tall receivers and tight ends over the middle, use the run to set up the pass. Force Garcia to stay in the pocket and deliver the ball to receivers down the field. Get Bryant and Clayton involved early on and as a new wrinkle to the offense by using either speedster in Clifton Smith or Dexter Jackson…
its tough to gauge what Gruden is going to do though

Is Ryan Sims
Actually making a contribution to the team, or is Gruden blowing smoke about him on Chiefs week?

Jimmy Wilkerson
on the other hand has been a great addition… he’s brought a motor nobody thought he possessed. He looked really good in the Pre-Season and i think he shocked the fan base. He’s making a case for Kevin Carter’s spot this season and could very well take it next season. Unless the Bucs go after my man crush in Julius Peppers
Wilkerson has been a nice addition though

he's contributed but nothing spectacular
he’s done the job when filling in. His lone sack was a coverage sack. He’s been serviceable but nothing noteworthy

Have you had the chance to smoke with Talib yet?
What is the deal with Graham and Dunn? Is Graham playing fullback the majority of the time, and what is Dunn’s status for this game?

Has Talib fought with anymore teammates?

other than the verbal scuffle with former rookie rb Cory Boyd
at the Rookie Symposium, no… he’s been a student of the game and a great addition to the secondary

Forget Talib...
You guys ever listen to Toubab Krewe? They don’t need no instructions to know how to rock.

Dunn may or may not play this weekend
Gruden admitted to mistakenly have played him last weekend to the detriment of the team. hopefully he doesnt make the same mistake twice. I think Dunn will play though. Graham has played a bit more at full back despite the addition of FB Jameel Cook, but he’s getting the majority of his reps as a running back..

A question for someone who knows pirates...
Whats the deal with Captain Morgan?

No hook? No parrot? No peg leg? No eye patch?

Is Captain Morgan respected by fellow captain, Captain Fear (who at least has a parrot and a totally boss face scar).
by HIV 2 Elway on Oct 29, 2008 7:44 PM CDT reply actions 1 recs
absolutely respected
who else provides Captain Fear with his unbelievably stale captain morgan breath? it’s first rate and worth the visit to Tampa!!
great question with pics to boot!

What shall we do with a drunken sailor?
Shave his belly with a rusty razor?
Put him in the locks until he’s sober?
