Charges Filed in Most Recent Larry Johnson Case

Formal charges were filed today in the recent case of Kansas City Chiefs running back Larry Johnson spitting a drink in the face of a female bar patron earlier this month.

Kansas City Chiefs running back Larry Johnson was charged today with simple assault for allegedly spitting a drink on a woman Oct. 10.

A police spokesman said Johnson turned himself in today, paid a $500 bond and was released. His court date on the municipal ordinance violation was set for Dec. 4.

I don't have much else to report on this, other than to say it appears that the most recent allegations will stick to Larry Johnson and he'll be forced by the court to account for his actions.

This is a waste of the courts time.

While I do not agree with what he did. I also think that a simple fine would have been enough. Going to court for spitting a drink on a women that is jut plain stupid.

So that's right between the Oakland and Denver Game...both away

I wonder if the team will get him on a private jet to make the Denver game.

Just keep matriculating the ball down the field boys.

I think

LJ is done for the season, and done as a Chief. I think if Goodell doesn’t suspend him, we do. I also believe the Chiefs are going to do everything to get rid of him in the offseason.

I just hope and pray that Cousin Carl and Hermination are ousted before that decision is made and that a new coach and GM are brought in and LJ changes his life/football career around as a Chief.

I hope he can plead guilty.

It sounds like he really did assault this girl. Under the law, assault is accomplished anytime one intends to and actually threatens or accomplishes an undesired contact with the person of another. That can be accomplished either with ones own body, or with an instrumentality, such as a spitting a drink in a somebodies face. Based on my reading of the police report, and the comments made in the media by the victim, I bet that Johnson did this. The club owner called the victim to apologize.

If he is guilty, I hope he pleads guilty, gets some community service, and gets his life together. I don’t think his future in football is very bright, nor do I think that history should be as a Chief. Beyond this legal trouble, and the character/work ethic issue, I think LJ is a big reason our offense is so predictable. We have to give him the ball early and often to keep him happy. And he is useless at picking up the pass rush on third down passing situations. In my opinion, makes our play calling even more predictable than it already is.

I think with Thiggy

showing us his potential, LJ can still fit into this offense. If we can pass, he can rip off huge gains on the ground. Also, if we need him to pound the ball in the end, he can do that. I want him to change and to remain a Chief. He needs to find a positive way to hone in on that fire he had in 2005.
