Half Season Draft Prediction... Sorry I'm on adderall
With the season reaching it's midpoint, and me becoming board with the standard disappointment tone that has been set with this season, I thought it would be interesting to give you my draft predictions for 2009 based on the performances/expectations of the 2008 season. (I'd like to see myself as the next great Mel Kiper Jr. or Todd McShay but in reality i'm just an arrogant college student with optimism being the foundation of my beliefs)
My problems, as well as I'm sure as yours, lie within the offensive line, LB Corp, and Safeties. Likewise, these are the areas in which I would like to spend most attention to. Many of you will disagree and rightfully so, you have your own opinion, but this is what we can spend our time doing instead of mindlessly repeating and declaring our woes for the Front Office and Coaching Staff. Discussion about our future, in my mind, is the best way to draw attention away from such babel. In summation, I present to you what...
Dono J. O'Dono 2009 NFL Draft Prediction, pt. 1 (Oct 27, 2008)
In my first edition of my Mock Draft, I would like to create the most ideal draft; however, this will NEVER happen. Notwithstanding, my delusions get the best of me and I present to you the 2009 Chiefs, sans Carl Peterson and Herm Edwards... They'll get more realistic as time passes.

well...
1) I don’t think we go LT in Round 1 after Albert has looked as good as he has as a rookie who missed most of camp and all of the preseason.
2) If a guard is the best player available, we could feasible pick him in Round 2, but we’d have to know he was at least the next Brian Waters, if not the next Will Shields.
Duke Robinson
I’ve seen him going in round 1 in some mocks so I would be content with him in the second.
I also don’t think we’ll take a LT at the top of round 1 but I like your line of thinking ….OL OL OL
No chance Robinson last until the 2nd round IMO
A lot of people say he is a better guard than Albert was. I am starting to think you are right about not taking a LT in the 1st round since Albert looks like the guy, so that leaves DE. Orakpo or Johnson?
Agreed.
We need a consistent rush and it doesn’t look like a QB will be the pick if we pick that high. I keep trying to remind myself that that are still winless teams out there, and it is possible that we win a few and pick around 4th ro 5th again. I love the draft so much! Why is speculation so much fun?
Asomugha
I’d be curious to hear your reasoning on him. It’s my understanding that he’ll hit free agency and be a HOT commodity. Corners are very well paid and, in my opinion, we’ve got a couple of good ones at a fraction of the cost.
The more I see of Andre Smith, the more I want him…
USC
Not that USC….South Carolina. He had a twin brother. If I’m not mistaken, Jasper is the LB ( I could be wrong but my internet is incredibly sketchy right now and taking me forever to look it up).

Here is what Walter Football says about him
Jasper Brinkley, South Carolina
Height: 6-2. Weight: 257.
Projected 40 Time: 4.58.
Projected Round (2009): 5-6.
5/11/08: Jasper Brinkley was a late first, early second-round prospect before suffering a nasty injury during the 2007 season. He has to prove himself all over again this year.
2007: Jasper Brinkley is out for the year with a knee injury. He may apply for a medical redshirt and return to South Carolina in 2008.
A member of the All-SEC First Team, Brinkley is a monstrous linebacker who will be able to play numerous positions on an NFL team because of his impressive size and speed. Brinkley and Vince Hall, the top inside linebackers of the 2008 class, will be hoping James Laurinaitis and Rey Maualuga stay in school.
14th ranked ILB per Walter, side note: Daniel Holtzclaw is ranked #7.
Jasper is an inside LB
his twin brother Casper was a D End at South Carolina. I found different stats on Jasper at Pro Football Weekly: 6’2 275 lbs. and runs a 4.75 40.
