After Brodie Croyle and Damon Huard each suffered what turned out to be season-ending injuries, Cox said Modkins told him at halftime that if Tyler Thigpen were injured, Cox was next in line to play quarterback.
"I didn’t know if he was joking or not," Cox said. "The only quarterback left was Tyler. If he went down, I don’t know what all they would really do. I got a little nervous."

I
dont think he was serious…I’m fairly positive there were other options like…an NFL roster exemption for an emergency QB…but then again that was probably occupied by Thiggy already…I duno, seems likely there was someone with more experience than that…available…

Quarterback controversy?
What if he had played and was 18 of 19 for 220 yards and 2 touchdowns? QOTF?

!["On a warm, sun-filled summer afternoon, Barth and Cox shared the path they each took in their NFL journey with those in attendance [at the HSPD program]. Representing three school districts, students from East, Hickman Mills, Raytown, Raytown South and Ruskin high schools then asked questions of these NFL gladiators. Following the Q&A session, the HSPD [High School Player Development] participants concluded this week-long program with a spirited 7-on-7 competition."
