Texas Tech 63 Kansas 14.... Graham Harrell????

It looks like Graham. Harrell and the red raiders are really legit this year.......it looks like he is the real deal.  What do yall think about drafting him?????  This game alone he is already 34/42 for 386 yards and 5 td's with no interceptions.  Year long... 222/318 with 23 td's.  I really don't care that Texas Tech runs the spread and is a huge passing team.  Graham Harrell is the real deal, he is crazy accurate, 6 foot 2, and doesn't get injured very often.  The only knock that I can think of about him is his spead.  I think be would be a very decent 2nd or 3rd rounder and that we need to go best available in the first.  Okay I might be a little bias as I am a Texas Tech alumni, but really what do yall think?

Caught some highlights of it

I’m in Austin now. He looks great and I’m sure Crabtree really helps out the passing game too.

Huge numbers like that always make me weary of a player though.

I'm watching Stafford now

and he looks great. Georgia is whomping LSU in the first quarter.

He has a great arm!

But I like Bradford’s accuracy. I would take any of them at this point.

re: harrell

if you were watching closely, you saw that harrell had roughly 5 seconds (an eternity) in the pocket, and that’s why he was so successful. until we upgrade our line, i dont see him being a reasonable selection.

In addition

I don’t think any NFL team has perfected scouting a spread QB.

No thanks on Harrell

He is 6’2, but he barely weighs 200 lbs(202 lbs to be exact) he has only been sacked 3 times all year, which would be the first half total in KC, so the combo of our line and his lack of bulk=an injured Harrell. He is very acurate, but the Leach system always has a top 5 NCAA QB, but none of them did anything in the pros, Tim Couch was the most productive if that says anything. If he is available as an undrafted FA, which he probably will be, then we can take a chance, but NO WAY IN HELL do we waste a 2nd or 3rd on him.

Good Point

But, with a first round selection RT (hopefully we trade down in the 20’s or 30’s) Graham would be worth our next pick since presumabaly our O-Line will be better. But I see your point Graham really might not have the speed to be what we need next year.

You are right on

he is not quick at all, he runs a 5.1 40.

It is possible, that with the way things have gone down this year,

We draft QB in rounds 1, 2 and 3!

Kansas isn’t exactly a powerhouse team. Doesn’t really prove a whole lot to me.

have you seen my baseball?

Hey!

Well, you are half-correct.

Our offense is legit, and today’s output does it little justice. Todd Reesing forced plenty of throws in the second half because of the massive defecit.

Our pass defense, however, is non-existent. And while I like Harrell a lot, and would love to get him in the 3rd round (I don’t really care how large he is; just want him to be able to stay healthy and be accurate with more arm strength than Damon Huard), don’t use today as any barometer. As hard as it is to believe, we would make Tyler Thigpen look good. I know, I know, hard to believe.

In all seriousness, though, we are a legit Top 25 team. I promise. But we aren’t on the same level as the Red Raiders, and probably were slotted correctly at #23ish. We’ll drop, obviously, but that seems to be where we fit.

You guys won't be ranked when you play MIZZOU

You will lose to Texas and probably at Nubbyville. I’m really disappointed in you jayhawkers as I hoped the Border War would be exciting again this year, I guess you guys still have basketball.

Who was playing

Right guard for Tech, they called him mankind. He is massive and seemed to pull well on running plays, prospect maybe? I think they said he is 6’7" weighing 320 plus.

by Eric Allen on Oct 25, 2008 11:24 PM CDT reply actions

He is a freak

His name is Brandon Carter. He had the mohawk and face painted kind of like the wrestler from Legion of Doom. Mankind He is 6’7 354 lb junior, who isn’t on many draft boards, but he did look damn quick getting out in front on that screen pass.

6'7" 354 pounds, oh shit!

D-lineman in that shadow would have to worry! Coming from Tech he has the pass blocking down, looks like he could run block, I am intrigued!

I've been reading about Texas Tech this morning and he seems to be a leader

on the offensive line. I also found that after yesterday he has jumped up the draft boards. One site has him listed as their number 3 guard now. He was All Big XII honorable mention last season, and played on the special teams as a freshman.

I could see us drafting him in like the third round but i bet we have a lot of people ranked in front of him at different positions

O-line should be

The most important thing for us to look at. The D would look better if they got some rest.
