LJ in court -- For the third time since becoming a Chief, running back Larry Johnson is in a scrape with the law.
Johnson faces a December date in Kansas City Municipal Court on a charge of simple assault. The municipal violation, filed early last month, stemmed from an incident on Feb. 24, 2008, in which a 26-year-old woman accused Johnson, 28, of using his open hand to push the left side of her head, according to court and police documents obtained by The Kansas City Star.

ho-lee hell
I just found that on KCStar also… that is the most ridiculous bizness I have ever heard of…someone tell that woman to get a pair and get over it…
Assault
of using his open hand to push the left side of her head
What the hell does that even mean? I’m not a big fan of LJ and I think the guy’s a jackass but this just sounds like someone trying to shake him down.
Supporting the lesser of two evils is still supporting something evil.
Not him
Would it be too crass of me to suggest it wasn’t LJ because I’ve never seen him block like that on the field.
Blame my wife!
It Wouldn't Be Crass
It would be hilarious. :)

HAHAHA
LJ should sue her for defamation. She clearly is trying to make money because he’s famous. The most telling part of the article is that she only decided to pursue these charges after “her friend told her it’s Larry Johnson, an NFL player.” He’s a running back he was stiff arming the crowd to get through.
Herm Edwards is a retard.
I don't think she'll be able to prove "damages"
What a freakin’ b-word.
It's Not Like He Has Ever Done Anything Like This Before
I mean he did pull a gun on a woman and shove another woman to the floor but this is totally out of character.
He's allowed to.
Because he had a 1600 yard rushing season. If he wants to slap some fatty who’s in his way that’s fine. It’s not his fault he’s famous. Now let’s sign Michael Vick, Marcus Vick, Pacman, and Chris Henry next season. It will be fun to read about the teams off the field activities. More fun than it is watching our team now.
Herm Edwards is a retard.
Before We Condemn Him
Let’s see what the case actually entails first.
But if it turns out he did assault a woman, I doubt that Johnson’s getting a pass. He wasn’t a 1700 yard rusher last year and I think it’s safe to say he won’t be one this year.

The fact that he's got a history of this
is what makes it damning. One woman trying to con him, fine. But he shouldn’t be putting himself in that position.
And men with repeated violence against women issues create big, big problems for me.

Words vs Actions
Here’s the problem: it’s hard to describe these altercations adequately in writing. When I read the story I thought the same thing most of you did: she’s just trying to shake some money out of him and it might work since he has a history of these things. Then I thought about it a little more. LJ weighs around 235 and can bench-press a Buick, right? So if he pushes some 90lb bar-hopper with his open hand, it really could hurt the girl. When you read “open-handed push” you might envision a slight push or a Grecco-Roman style head throw. I doubt she can prove any sort of injury so this will just go away like the other times, but LJ could easily hurt somebody with an open-handed shove. Except for a blitzing linebacker; they usually win that fight.
Why is he shoving her anyway?
Why is he shoving anyone? Why isn’t a bodyguard or handler doing it? Why is he repeatedly having physical altercations with women?

I'm not defending his actions
It is totally inappropriate for him to be acting this way. If there is a problem at the bar, a bouncer should be involved. In fact, what I was trying to say is don’t be too quick to pass judgment on the woman in the altercation, LJ has a history of this sort of thing and we shouldn’t be passing it off as a money-grabbing stunt.
I am with Matt
On this, these are repeated altercations with WOMEN. He will not take on a blitzing linebacker, but you put a women in front of him and he will plow her ass!
Plow Her Ass?
Huh huh, huh huh (continued Butthead laugh follows)
