Huard to Pats?
This is pretty interesting. I'm not sure that I saw this anywhere else on here. Sorry if I should have put it somewhere different.
"Athan reports that the New England Patriots are interested in the veteran to replace the void left by Tom Brady, who is out the entire season with an injury."

Good Catch
Huard to the Patriots makes a lot of sense. He’s familiar with how Belichick runs things and Cassel’s not that good. The link also noted that the Seahawks and Steelers were very interested in Larry Johnson. The Steelers would seem to be the best fit because he’s a Penn State guy and their running game loves power backs like LJ.

They should take what they can get for Huard
Seriously if they are offered a 7th rounder they should take it because I can’t imagine anyone really being willing to part with a pick for an old QB that only has a year or two left in his career.

We aren't trading LJ
Just because we are rebuilding doesn’t mean we gut the whole team. Gonzalez is staying because we won’t get any worth in a trade. Huard, you could trade but why. At least he is a good guy for the team and while not great has been a team guy. So you get a 7 for him, which is all you would get. You may get lucky but doubt it and in the end waste a pick and get rid of a veteran that this team needs to have. Lets face it this team lacks veteran leadership.

I Think It's Less To Do With Gutting The Team
And more to do with management thinking LJ is more of a problem than a solution. It seems they’re shopping him right now. And he’s definitely not going to be of much assistance in two or three more years…Gonzalez might.

If that were really the case
Why did Carl sign him to a long term deal? He isn’t really the type of GM to resign players to beg contracts unless they are important pieces. What has he done to cause problems? He has been outspoken about how the team is doing, so have a lot of players around the league in these situations.

Might As Well
This is a lost season and I’ve pretty much given up any chance of the young players developing under these circumstances…whether Huard’s the starter or not.
Although I think we can get more than a 7th rounder for him.

Not Huard
I guess I’d be willing to concede Gonzalez because the value in return would be something somewhat significant. But a 7th rounder for the only QB whose shown, at one time or another, that he can be serviceable?

I Agree That He's The Only Serviceable QB On The Roster
But let’s face it, man…this team’s not going to develop this year no matter who’s sitting back there at QB. Huard’s not mobile enough to protect himself back there, Croyle’s too fragile to stay healthy, Thigpen is terrible…we’re basically screwed no matter who our QB is. Might as well write this season off entirely and hope it’s enough to get Carl fired. Lord knows he’s done plenty to merit it.

Why should Carl
Be the only one to be fired? He is not actually the one who is supposed to be prepping these players.

Please don't write the season off
Please please please

Being A Good Fan Does Not Mean Drinking The Kool-Aid
Have I ever said that I won’t be a Chiefs fan if the team goes 1-15? Have I ever said I’d abandon them if Carl Peterson isn’t sacked? No…I haven’t. And very few others who’ve complained about this season have either.
It’s not being a bad fan to point it out when your team is in a rotten situation. It’s not being a bad fan to make an honest analysis of the season. I’m still a Chiefs fan regardless and I’ll be a Chiefs fan next year. I’m not just not a Carl or Herm fan, because they’re not the Chiefs. They’re just two guys currently tasked with running the Chiefs and doing a crappy job.

And Yes
I’m writing this season off…because this team as Peterson has built it and Herm is running it is a non-functioning football team. There’s nothing that’s going to change about that until the people running it change.
P.S. Eric, the reason I’m not calling for Herm’s head is that I think we need to hire a new GM and let him decide what to do with the head coach. I don’t think that we should fire both at the same time or both in mid-season. I do think, however, that we should definitely fire Carl mid-season. The longer the new GM’s got to assess the state of the team, the better off we’ll be for 2009.

Ever listen to the Brian Jonestown Massacre?
May have misspelled massacre

Nope
You got it right.
I’ve heard of the Brian Jonestown Massacre and know that it’s referring to Brian Jones from the Rolling Stones as well, but I’ve never heard their music.

I've Heard The Album Name Before
I’ll check them out. Always looking for new music. Just found The Sounds recently and liked them. Finnish band. Also liked The Redwalls. Worth checking out if you’re surfing around iTunes.

That is a decent thought UC
On the new GM to decide what to do on the coaching situation. I would just hope the new GM likes to win, not evaluate talent on Sundays.

I personally think we are gonna go 12-4.
But that’s just me. :)

Can we just call the season a mulligan? and start all over...
(excuse the golf terms) But if we trade all our best players? are we suppose to play all 18 fairways through with just a putter? Dude….I’m lost for words…..CRAP…CRAP…crap……what in the world is going on here? trade everybody because we can get value? Hey I don’t like LJ’s attitude (or is pass blocking), but the boy can run.
So we’re going into the rest of the year (maybe) without LJ, Tony and maybe Damon? How in the heck are we giving Brodie a fair shake on proving himself? (if he can stay healthy long enough)
