Tony Trade
"Look, I'll always be a Chief but other players have moved on later in their careers looking for that ring. Reggie White, Jerry Rice, Joe Montana, Marcus (Allen), Favre ... it happens. This isn't easy for me to do. It's out of character for me but they may as well get something for me at this point."

Everyone of those guys left AFTER they won rings. (Except Reggie I think, i dont know that there was a time he WASN't a packer : ) They all moved because they wanted to start, not end their HOF careers on the bench...

Tony is being a punk!
Look, I understand that he wants to get a ring. Every player does. As does the REST of his team. However, they all can’t go to a team in contention. If they want one bad enough, you’d think that they would put THEMSELVES in contention. Look, Tony is and has always been my favorite Chief. But the thing is, you don’t piss and moan for a new contract, and cry about retiring as a Chief, then bail on your fans, your teammates, organization. Oh waaa I want a ring. Come on, be a man, and honor the contract you demanded and received.

Demanded?
I don’t remember it playing out that way with Tony.
I personally feel that we (the chiefs) should WANT to move Tony if they can get fair compensation for him. After all from all apperances we will NOT be competitive for the remainder of his career. So what we win a couple of more games the next two seasons because we have tony. Why not try to get a player that could be coming into his prime about the time this team is ready to make a run, not watching tony retire right at that point.

I don't remember for sure, But I think he even held out of camp for it.
But I do remember him taking to tv, radio, and the newspapers to get the contract. And if the Chiefs want to move him so be it. That’s their choice. But, Tony whining his way out is what’s pissing me off. Not that he may potentially leave. Take the MILLIONS you signed for and shut up.

I WANT A...
3rd rounder or no deal! If we can’t get that then we will trade him for pennies next year if we are not competitive.

Reggie White...
Reggie White played for the Eagles before he went to Green Bay; where he won a super bowl…. He left Philly as a free agent and was i think the biggest name to leave via free agency and sign with a small market team.

Don't forget...
that he spent one meaningless season with the Panthers to close out his career!

They better use their pick to get Chase Cauffman next year!
They are going to have to start taking big names and/or local players in the draft to get their fan base back. Because its already failing as it is. You take away the 2 possibly 3 biggest fan favorites in Allen, Gonzo, and possibly LJ. Then you are really gonna struggle to sell tickets. Especially combining that with a 4-12 season last year and pressumably worse this year.

If it Aint a 1 or 2........ hang it up
If we don’t get a 1 and/or 2 for TG, or even LJ………. Chiefs are stupid. Hello….. We got a 1 for Jared Allen…. Come on Now!

Totally different positions
TEs aren’t very valued and RBs are a dime a dozen. DEs are valued so high because they can affect a game so much on their own. Same with QBs.
A third rounder is good value for Gonzalez. I bet we couldn’t even trade LJ for a 3rd right now.

One more catch
I can’t help but think this could have been different if they had thrown him one more pass in the Denver game. It would have been a small thing to do that would have meant a lot to Tony and the fans. Loyalty has to work both ways.

Allegedly
He asked for the trade before the Denver game but I know what you mean. Still, I think this was coming either way, you could tell the way he talked in the offseason.
