"The Man in the Middle"
Our new slogan "You can't lose if you don't play" will be discarded next week as we prepare for one of the last remaining unbeaten teams in the NFL. Instead of looking at how good this whole team really is, I would like draw your attention to the Man in the Middle, the unmovable object, the disruptive force on the inside, the Mammoth wrecking machine named Albert Haynesworth III. Our lineman are already having nightmares brought on by the game tapes. The current AFC Defensive Player of the Month has been a holy terror on opponents this season, and he is a big reason for the undefeated start of the Tennessee Titans.
Few current day players remind me of the late great Reggie White like Haynesworth does. He is a man among boys out there sometimes, and his numbers so far this year would seem to be a prelude to another Pro Bowl caliber season for the 7th year Defensive Tackle. He has incredible agility for a person his size and I defy anyone to take him on one on one. Double teams were invented for people like him. In my opinion he is as good as it gets at his position in today's NFL, and young Dorsey should pay attention to how he plays the game. He has an amazing effect on what HIS team does defensively, and he can take over a game single handedly, forcing opposing offenses to scrap game plans early in the game. He also opens up the field for his other line mates such as Kyle Vanden Bosch (the most underrated DE in the league), fellow DT Tony Brown (4 sacks to go with Albert's 5!), and returnee Jevon "The Freak" Kearse. In short, he is really good.
The big difference between "The Reverend" White and Haynesworth is the mean streak that he plays with, as evidenced by the Face Stomp he put upon Andre Gurode of the Cowboys a few years back. As if we needed him to play angry! I am sure our offensive lineman have tried to prepare for playing against him by putting a giant boulder on the D line, or perhaps by practicing blocking a hippopotamus! I don't want to come across as negative or to say that the outlook is bleak, but even if we played with 12 men on the field the whole game we might have trouble. Get your Zantac ready, because this is going to be hard to digest.

Brodie
is going to get hammered. Bad week to be the Chiefs Q.B.

all the Brodie haters should be licking their chops,
cuz if there’s ever a game to reinforce his status as injury prone, this one is probably it.
Anyone anxious to see him take some hits – either to see him hurt again or see him stick it out – is sitting pretty as far as getting that wish answered.

Haynesworth
Few current day players remind me of the late great Reggie White like Haynesworth does…The big difference between “The Reverend” White and Haynesworth is the mean streak that he plays with
Well, except that Haynesworth plays defensive tackle and Reggie White played defensive end.
Haynesworth reminds me more of Jerome Brown, the standout defensive tackle for the Eagles who died in a car accident when he was only 27. It doesn’t list tackle stats for him on that link, but in his final season (1991) he had 150 tackles to go with his 9 sacks…for a DT that’s simply unreal. Haynesworth is that kind of a dominator on the interior.
Supporting the lesser of two evils is still supporting something evil.

I wasn't comparing their position
I was comparing their dominance. But thanks for the Brown comparison. He did show amazing promise. My concern with Haynesworth is has he matured enough so that the Gurode incident is not repeated?
