Carson Palmer?

What about a trade for Carson Palmer...obviously the Bangles are not satisfied with him.  He is a player with leadership ability and the talent to take it over the top.  Some players just need a change of location to flourish.  Trade Tony to the Giants for a 3rd rounder and send that 3rd rounder to CIN for Palmer.  Maybe it is too early to jump the gun, but you got to strike while the iron is hot.  The Bengals benched him and the trade deadline is Tuesday.

Thoughts?

He's injured

Not benched.

I can never see this happening. Even the Bengals are smarter than that.

NEVER

When he is healthy he is a top 5 QB in the league, if we traded them a 1st we could snag him but not a third.

Top 5 quarterback?

thats a stretch. He really hasn’t had a good season since they went to the playoffs. He throws as much interceptions as he does touchdowns. Not to mention their is no way we could get him.

Not really a stretch at all.

He hasn’t been healthy since they went to the playoffs in 06. If he has TJ surgery now and they get him a LT then he will be on top again.

He's Definitely Top 5

His problem has been playing for the Bengals more than anything. But his individual performance has been great.

But

Chiefsfan is correct in that it’s probably going to be impossible to get him. He’s Cincinnati’s leader and the front office there isn’t going to part with him.

I agree with the impossible to get him thing

I said it would take our top 5 pick next year to get him.

And Probably More

He’s a rare talent and he’s still in his prime…plenty of good years left.

He's Possibly Got Severe Elbow Damage

In fact, he’s looking an awful lot like Jake Delhomme pre-Tommy John surgery, so he’s not a good option for us in trade. Cincinnati would likely ask for a first rounder and we don’t want to give that up for a player who may need reconstructive elbow surgery.

And He's Not Benched For Performance

He’s benched because of the elbow problems. The Bengals would never dream of starting Fitzpatrick over Palmer if Palmer was healthy.

wouldn't matter who plays QB

They would get crushed behind this offensive line. We could have Fran Tarkenton in Roethlisberger’s body running on Randall Cunningham’s legs with Elway’s arm and Joe Montana’s brain and he would still get creamed on a 3 step drop. Unless we run for 2 yards on 3 plays then punt every possession. Hell, make Colquitt the new starting QB. He always has time to get rid of the ball, and we’ve seen him a lot this season.

I think D. Andersen is a much better deal

He has performed poorly early on in the season (kicked ass against the giants last night). But a lot of the performance issues haven’t been his making….The Brown’s WR’s have suffered from greased hands, the play calling has been too repetitive, along with many other problems.

He was a pro-bowler last year, yet Clevland is dying for Brady Quinn (has to be the most popular back up QB Ever).

D.A. is still young, has many years left in the NFL. He can develop into an awesome Franchise QB (which the chiefs really need). He makes a good spot to rebuild and offense around.
