Trading Tony Gonazlez? and his eulogy as a Chief..
Tony Gonzalez, prominent NFL player for the Kansas City Chiefs, died last night from complications of losing chances of winning a Super Bowl Ring with the team that drafted him. He was thirty-two years old. Soft-spoken and obsessive, Gonzalez never looked the part of a hopeless romantic. But in the final days of his life, he revealed an unknown side of his psyche. This hidden quasi-Jungian persona surfaced during the Agatha Christie-like pursuit for his long, reputed Lombardi Trophy; an opportunity whom he spent an entire career searching for. Sadly, the protracted search ended late in the 6th week of the 2008 season. When he was finally traded to a team who had a legitimate shot at contending for a trophy. His pursuit with the team that originally drafted him out of California had ended in utter failure. Yet even in certain defeat, the courageous Gonzalez secretly clung to the belief that life is not merely a series of meaningless accidents or coincidences. Uh-uh. But rather, it is a tapestry of events that culminate into an exquisite, sublime plan. Ask about the loss of their dear friend, at the community of Arrowhead Pride, the Pulitzer Prize-winning (unofficial team Website), described Tony as a changed man in the last days of his life. Things were clearer for him, aPacificChief noted. Ultimately, Tony concluded that if we are to live life in harmony with the universe we must all possess a powerful faith, of what the ancients used to call fatum; what we currently refer to as destiny.
Goodbye Tony, and win one for us....

The thing you know has got to be eating at Tony
Is he could go to any other team, no matter which one, and do the exact same thing that happened with him during his Chiefs career, lose the first game of the playoffs.
Just because he gets traded to a legitimate contender doesn’t put the ring on his finger. You have to wonder if he will still feel it was worth it to be traded away if he still never gets to the big show.

Yeah
But he wants an opportunity. He’s only had that chance twice here.

You used two words that the Chiefs haven't been able to say
since Marty left. "legitimate contender " There is no guarantee the Chiefs will say that for the next 10 years.
"But what do I know, I’m like an empty room with a large ECHO"

very depressesing
Every time I or anyone else thinks of the present day chiefs you automatically think of tony g. I am not looking forward to the days when we don’t see him out there in a chiefs uniform anymore. I cannot and will not blame him for wanting out because who would want to be a part of this train wreck. Tony you will always be a Chief no matter what happens and wherever you go I will be rooting for you.

Nice pick up stlfan.....
couldn’t of thought that on my own? the words were too gay for my taste, plus it was the best way to express the irony on the circumstances that has fallen on the Chiefs.
All started with the passing of our legend DT 58. The team has never been the same since he passed. Now there’s talk of trading one of the best TE’s in NFL history. Especially after we just traded our all-pro DE last year. It sure is getting alot worse.
