Gunther Cunningham would like to call the defensive signals from the sidelines for the season's final 11 games. Cunningham, the defensive coordinator, has been working in the press box on game day.
Cunningham said it would help the Chiefs make adjustments if he was stationed on the sideline.
"We're trying to think of anything we can to put the players in the best position to make plays," he said.

This is something I've been hoping they would do ever since he got back
I know that you’re kind of at a tactical disadvantage as far as seeing whats going on from the sideline rather than the booth, but Gunther Cunninghams strength has always been in his ability to get his defense fired up. You lose that with him in the booth.
Hopefully they go ahead and do this.

Agreed
I think that putting Gunther in the booth probably did handicap him in dealing with his defense. He appears to be a guy who motivates through emotion and it’s tough to do that over a headset.
Supporting the lesser of two evils is still supporting something evil.
