2008 Senior Bowl Open Thread

I just realized that this game is only on the NFL Network, which I don't get.

So here's the open thread for those of you who have it. The info is much appreciated.

LaDell Hawkins TD

First play after the interception, Chad Henne QB of Michigan throws a Damon Huard rainbow into the endzone and WR LaDell Hawkins of U. Cal adjusts and catches it for a touchdown.

Trevor Laws DT

DT Trevor Laws from Notre Dame for the North sacks Colt Brennon, also recovers fumble on another play. Announcer comments that Laws had 112 tackles as a DT this last season

South team TD Drive

John David Booty of the North throws an interception in the end zone to Quinten Demps DB of UTEP.

On the South drive, Peyton Hillis FB of Arkansas and Beshard Choice RB of Georgia Tech made lots of yards. Choice looked especially good, getting 2 first downs and on one play stiff arming one player and destroying a CB for a 18 yd run.

Jacob Hester FB of LSU caught several short passes.

Andre Woodson QB U. Kentucky 7 yd TD pass to Cottam TE U Texas.

The announcers are in love with him so its hard to tell. He doesn't have a great arm but they just keep talking about how "accurate" he is.

I haven't been real impressed with him, but I didnt watch him during the regular season.

Dominique Rogers-Cromartie

Cromartie CB (sorry dont know what school) is having a great game.

Earlier defended a pass batting it away from the WR. Then on a quick out pass he destroyed the WR drilling him as soon as he caught it.

midway through 2nd quarter he intercepts QB Flacco.

Sedrick Ellis DT of USC just sacked Andre Woodson in the end zone for a safety.

Halftime

North leads 9-7 at halftime.

Apparently Leodis McKelvin CB of Troy St who is a great CB prospect thought to go later in the 1st round to early 2nd round pulled his hamstring in practice Wed and is not playing today.

At end of 2nd quarter, pass went from Joe Flacco QB Delaware to Bowman WR of OSU in the end zone. Should have been a TD, but bad call by the officials. Kicker for South missed FG from 5 yd line (shades of Dave Rayner).

Players having great games:

Laws DT Notre Dame - Sack and fumble recovery

Cromartie CB ? - Pass batted away and Interception

Sedrick Ellis DT USC - Getting double teamed most of the time, but still got a safety.

Hawkins WR UCal - Couple of good catches and a TD

Peyton Hillis FB Arkansas - Not doing much blocking but has run the ball several times.

Beshawn Choice RB Georgia Tech - Very physical RB only has run it a few times but made 2 first downs and several nice size runs.
