The Kansas City Chiefs and the Week 4 Power Rankings

Don't forget to participate in the first (and hopefully only) Brodie Croyle Pick 'Em Contest.

ESPN #28 Last week #31

RB Larry Johnson produced just 42 yards on 24 carries -- only the third time in his career that he has failed to reach 100 yards when given 20 or more attempts. He'll face an equally frustrated LaDainian Tomlinson this Sunday in San Diego.
CBS #24 Last week #32(!)
They stared 0-3 in the face against the Vikings, but came alive in the fourth quarter. The offense can't score points and this week they go into a hornet's nest against the Chargers.
Fox Sports #24 Last week #30
The Chiefs got their first win of the season on Sunday, avoiding the franchise's first 0-3 start in 27 years. With the running game doing absolutely nothing, Kansas City turned to the aerial attack, getting just enough offense to win 13-10. Larry Johnson was held to 42 yards on 24 carries, but quarterback Damon Huard completed 20-of-29 passes for 209 yards. The defense did its part to ensure the victory. With the Broncos, Raiders, and Chargers all either 2-1 or 1-2, the Chiefs are still in the mix in the crowded AFC West.
The Chiefs are getting a little bit more love from the traditional media and their power rankings this week. If the Chiefs win in San Diego this week, how high do they jump? If that happens, I think the Chiefs can safely be put at the #20 position. They'll have earned it by that point.

Or how far
do the Bolts drop if they lose?  I realize this is a Chiefs site, but I assume that with a Chiefs win, people will begin to think that the Chargers stink this year more than they think the Chiefs are for real.  Now, combine a win over the Chargers with a win over the Jaguars, then the Chiefs will see a big jump.  People will then start to think the Chiefs are a good team -- with a shining D -- that had a slow start.  =]

This week will be interesting.  We'll need interceptions.  Caused mostly by the pass rush.  And no penalties on big offensive plays!

Getting over the .500 hump would be huge
If we lose this week, not very many ppl will give us credit for the win, instead focusing on SD's collapse or something.

If we are going to win this weekend, we certainly need Philip Rivers to make mistakes.  Combine that with holding LT under a hundo and we could make this game more interesting than most would realize.
