Larry Johnson Holdout Could End Soon

I said I wasn't going to report on "imminent" deals with the Kansas City Chiefs until something solid came along. I'll give Adam Teicher a little credit here though. It seems like the Larry Johnson holdout could be ending soon.

If Johnson and the Chiefs have an agreement by Friday, he could be ready to play in the Aug. 23 preseason game against New Orleans at Arrowhead Stadium. One source said the sides were so optimistic about a forthcoming agreement that Johnson might be at Arrowhead Stadium for Thursday night’s exhibition game against Miami.
If Larry Johnson does end his hold out later this week, Kansas City Chiefs' fans will remember this as the great holdout that never really was. Larry Johnson will presumably have held out for what amounts to the length of the Chiefs' training camp, which ends today with an afternoon practice in River Falls. It won't have gone into the regular season. Harsh words haven't been exchanged exchanged in public. Larry Johnson' reputation will still remain basically what it once was in Kansas City. We all understand that it was wrong to be paying him what he was scheduled to make in 2007 so we're fine with him taking time out of a training camp that wouldn't necessarily do him any good anyway. Life, and the Chiefs's season, will go on.

With that said, let's finish this deal up. We've got Broncos, Chargers and Raiders to stomp all over this season.

Note: I attached a poll so click through to vote.
