Around SBN: The Ten Worst Swings Of The 2011 Season

One Year of Arrowhead Pride

Exactly one year ago today, Arrowhead Pride began. Some of you reading this have been around this site from the beginning and some have only joined the site in the last few months (or even days). And only a couple of you came to this site via my now defunct, old Chiefs blog- The Tomahawk Blog. Pretty cool name, huh? Well, it sounded cool after my 100th try at finding a good domain name.

Not to spend too much time on this but I figure a few lines about where we've come and where we're going would be appropriate. For probably the first 6 months of the existence of this blog, I posted nearly everyday to an audience of virtually NOBODY. Sure, I had hits coming in in but they were search engine hits, misc. hits and there weren't many of them. Still, I had fun writing about the Chiefs and through that slowly discovered that I'm not a mix of Hunter S. Thompson, a classic sports journalist and whoever wrote the Book of Revelation. But it was fun.

The site's traffic has jumped considerably since the off season began and the quality of the content has risen as well. You can see it in the higher number of well-written diaries we have and the fantastic commenters that come here everyday to talk about the Chiefs. I expect this community to grow quite a bit as we approach the off season and with that we'll have more success and more growing pains. It's up to each and everyone of us to make sure this site remains representative of the greatest football fans on the planet.

Let me take this time to say thank you to everyone that visits this site and contributes. This truly has become a community of Kansas City Chiefs fans and I'm hardly the main factor behind that. It's you, out there, reading and writing that make this site such a fun place to write for.

Keep it up and GO CHIEFS!

Congratulations, Chris.
This is certainly my one stop for Chiefs info because of the quality (and quantity) of posts everyday.  All the comments are legitimate and educated.  You've done a great job with the site since the beginning and I'm glad to be a part of it.

You and Arrowhead Addict
have been the two best websites for original Chiefs commentary, period. Keep up the good work.

Tomohawkosphere
MLScrib still hassles me about when he's gonna get the big payoff for being the original IT guy behind the to-mah-hoke-blogue.  I tell him I'm not in it for the scrilla just for the love of the blog.

May I also point out that the comparison of Bruce Smith to an Orc was way pre-KSK.

Long live the tomohawkosphere!

Thanks guys
The commenters make this site. Look at the comments a typical Kansas City Star article gets and then look over here. Intelligence, respect and a love of the game are always present here. At the Star...not so much.
