Positional Analysis: WR

# Name Pos Ht Wt Born Exp College Hometown Acquired
82 Dwayne Bowe WR 6-2 221 9/21/1984 R LSU Miami FL D1-07
14 Brad Ekwerekwu WR 6-3 216 10/3/1985 R Missouri Arlington TX CFA-07
85 Rod Gardner WR 6-2 219 10/26/1977 7 Clemson Jacksonville FL FA-06
81 Chris Hannon WR 6-3 205 2/18/1984 1 Tennessee Sarasota FL FA-06
87 Eddie Kennison WR 6-1 201 1/20/1973 12 Louisiana State Lake Charles LA FA-01
18 Samie Parker WR 5-11 190 3/25/1981 4 Oregon Long Beach CA D4a-04
17 Maurice Price WR 6-0 197 9/11/1985 R Charleston Southern Orlando FL CFA-07
9 Ean Randolph WR 5-8 173 11/14/1985 R South Florida Plant City FL CFA-07
6 Titus Ryan WR 6-0 193 5/19/1984 R Concordia Tuscaloosa AL CFA-07
80 Jeff Webb WR 6-2 211 1/31/1982 2 San Diego State LaQuinta CA D6b-06
Above are our current crop of wide receivers. Of the ten players officially listed at WR, I expect us to keep at least five, with at least one or two of those guys staying on for special teams, i.e. Samie Parker or Jeff Webb. That leaves us with a couple of people to get rid of on this list.

Kennison is still our #1 until Bowe shows himself. Rod Gardner showed us nothing last year and I would personally be surprised if he is still around come the begining of the season. He had appeared in 14 games last year and had two catches. Say goodbye to another worn out veteran.

Brad Ekwerekwu has been consistently getting praise from the head coach and the KC media since he was signed after the draft. Seeing how we've heard little to nothing about Maurice Price or Titus Ryan, I don't expect them to be on the Chiefs regular season roster this season.

So who do you think is in and who is out?

Eck is in.......
I definitly think the 5 would have to be Bowe, Kennison, Ekwerekwu, Webb, and Parker. Hannon could slide in there somewhere also.

I agree about Eck
The kid has been playing beyond expectations of an undrafted free agent.

Yeah they do
I don't think he'll stick around as WR.

i think we keep 6
titus ryan and maurice price have no shot, sorry better luck next year and/or somewhere else guys,

rod gardner should be left out as well, we have too much young talent to keep an old guy that doesnt produce

that leaves 6 spots for 7 viable candidates. my least favorite of these 7 is samie parker (my how far has he fallen in just one offseason, from starter to possibly not even making the team)

kennison and bowe are FOR SURE making the team.

eck will almost certainly make it as well, herm loves him and webb.

herms love for webb will probably let him stay around as well.

i think that webb can be our kr because eck will probably be our 3rd wr. going into the offseason i thought that webb couldnt be the pr/kr because he would be our 2nd or 3rd wr, but i think we added two better wrs in bowe and eck so webb can be a solid #4 and our kr/pr. that lets samie come in as the 5th wr and hannon as the 6th if there is a 6th at all. if randolph wins the kr/pr job, very possible given how talented he is, then i think that hannon doesnt make it and gets another year on the practice squad. with all of the late picks we have received lately for players we have no use for (green, sims, tynes, dante) maybe we can trade parker for a 5th, 6th or 7th round pick and make the decision is. at least if hannon plays well enough to warrant it...
