Open Gameday Thread - Kansas City Chiefs (4-7) v. San Diego Chargers (6-5)
VS.
When: Noon Central Time
Where: The Arrowhead Stadium, Kansas City, MO
Chargers in the blogosphere: Bolt Hype
Weather: High of 34, medium winds. Updated game weather is here.
A lonely city turns its eyes back to the Kansas City Chiefs, after MU's loss last night to Oklahoma in the Big 12 Championship game. Congrats to the Tigers and the Jayhawks on entertaining seasons.
Despite your feelings on the status of the Chiefs' season, this is a divisional game and the Chargers are the division leaders. The same song is being sung-- The Chiefs are still "in the race", despite our poor play. I'll be here the whole game so let us know if you're around. Before the game starts, make sure you check out Arrowhead Addict. They have updated injury reports and a picture of Boomer Grigsby and Larry Johnson's birthday party in New York. Seriously.
I'll continue my theme of always picking the Chiefs to win. I predict a similar score as the first meeting this season-- 27 to 20, Chiefs. Leave your predictions in the comment section. I'll list the inactives in there too when they become available.
GO CHIEFS!!!

Well
Philip Rivers makes mistakes. He'll give it up twice, a pick and a fumble. We don't stop LT, but contain him to around a 100 total yards and a touch. I haven't seen Chris Chambers play at all since the trade so I'll be interested in checking that out.
We'll probably win and sweep the division leaders, weird season just like the college football season.
Oh my god, change it to ESPN and watch Emmitt give us his take on the games.
"That offense doe...DO look good!" He corrected himself to the incorrect grammar. Painful to listen to him.

Well
I mean they drove the ball on their first possession. I know these games eventually turn to shit, but we can look back on that drive & smile.
A big Gonzo reception.
Kolby Smith showing his prowess.
Threw it past the first down marker on 3rd down - that has to break some kind of record.
And most important, we made the field goal!!
Small steps.
Go Chiefs!

im a little behind...
kolby smith is the main reason im watching this game. i love watching him run. a lot.
carney is already our best kicker. lets keep him for awhile, we dont need a young kicker...
huard looked good the first drive, but we still should have started thigpen...

i know it might be better to have us lose...
but i still want to win this game SO bad.
we blew a couple of games this year, namely last week, and if we would have won just a couple we could be in AWESOME position in the division if we win today.
still, i want to win this game. really bad...

boooooooooooo
maybe theyre saying...huuuuuuuard?

Pull him?
I mean I don't give a shit at this point, but I think we get to relive our romance with Damon Huard for another 47 minutes.
It's like seeing your ex at a party & you have to chat with them for fifteen minutes. It is so painful. I mean maybe you see some glimpses of what you liked, but the longer the conversation goes on, the more you know you made the right decision. And you just can't wait to get the hell out of there.

by DJ on Dec 2, 2007 12:58 PM CST 0 recs
Probably
Honestly, I think that's it. It's a cop out for the play callers, open it up after we're out of the race so they can say hey we tried to open it up.
