Rumors and speculation

There is a rumor floating around here in Nebraska that Bill Callahan, recently fired Nebraska head coach, is on a straight path to the Chiefs as Herm's new OC.

I have no idea if this is even close to true.  It may not even make a decent rumor.  However, to stop and think about it for a moment, Would Callahan, or someone like him be a good OC for the Chiefs?

I don't think Bill is head coach material.  But he, like Solari, is a "specialist"  perhaps a bit more so than Solari.  He would be ok I think in that position.

Just thought I'd share some of the breeze flying around these parts.

Hmm
Admittedly, I'm not a big Nebraska fan.  Is Bill Callahan supposed to be an offensive specialist or what?  Run game, pass game?  This could be interesting.

Rumors
I think where this rumor got started was the day after Callahan was fired from Nebraska, "his people" said he was already in talks with an NFL team to come to work as an Offensive Coordinator.

I'm sure some Chiefs fans assumed that meant us.  We definately need a new Offensive Coordinator, but so do alot of other teams.

I don't know much about Callahan other than there was nearly a mutiny against him when he was Head Coach of the Raiders (security guards had to escort him through the locker room) and he destroyed Nebraska.

That doesn't sound very good, but then again, there are lost of people that are terrible head coaches, but are very good coordinators.

This would be
the final straw for me in Herm's short tenure.

The guy can't coach. Period. He overcomplicates the playbook to the point where you can't actually operate anything. He got to the Superbowl on the backs of veterans that knew how to do their job, and then was summarily torn asunder when the coach that had installed the system ripped it apart.

He then tanked a once proud program (thanks, Bill!)to the point where they're losing recruits to Missouri and Kansas. On top of that he was responsible for 3 of the 4 worst losses in Nebraska history.

I swear to God, Herm... don't touch him. I know I said open it up a little, but Jesus!

There's a reason the Chiefs play in MISSOURI.

lol
Don't worry Mawk, he'll probably stick with Solari anyway.  Geez, which would be worse?!
